TBH with all this "publicity" I grabbed the download because I was curious, tried it for 5mins - mostly just listening to the music - and ordered the game from TOTOTEK , costed me 62$ shipped.

I wouldn't know where to look either way. Not so good at digging up certain kinds of pirate items.

Hey anyone willing to give some gameplay help?

I'm in that forest (Promontory Forest IIRC) and my crew gets to the house with the old dying man, with the zoo collection in his house. lol OK then there is the monster that we have to fight multiple times but so far I have not beaten him the 3rd time. The 3rd time is right next to that friendly dragon.

Any tips for beating this returning monster?

Also what does Alina's "Ameliorite" spell do?

Ameliorite will heal ALL party members at once. The amount of HP that you gain depends on gather of course.

The best tips for fights in Pier Solar in general (at least for me):
    1. Use the proper accessory to minimize the damage.
    2. Make some of the characters have a very high Action Points stat, move them on the front. Let them only defend themselves.
    3. Attack only with those in the background.
    4. Gather first, attack second.

Thanks, IDK why I didn't realize Ameleorite heals all members... I just didn't see the effect and there were always other important spells & attacks to do...

    Well that should help anyways

And yes the graphics and music (both soundtracks) are very beautiful

I dare saying, the screenshots of PS IV's fighting screen look more epic than the ones in Pier Solar. Also, I don't like that chiby-style in which the characters are drawn in Pier Solar. I prefer it when everyone has real body proportions and adults don't look like they are 5.

    Genesis

I agree actually. While Pier Solar is very beautiful, I do slightly prefer the art & music in PSIV. Although they really have entirely different aesthetics so they both stand on their own.

But yeah I generally don't like cute stuff in games, so I always appreciated that PSIV never did that at all! Plus PSIV has multiple art styles, the simplistic overview art, the anime, the realistic style of the battles... So awesome

What does this mean? I'm not a manga nerd so I'm not familiar with all of the different styes. But yeah, Phantasy Star has always had the superior character designs compared to any RPG.

Short, big heads, little bodies that are more round/fat looking in design. Basically, just compare games like Phantasy Star IV and Star Odyssey and how they draw their characters on the overworld maps, to how Lunar on the Sega-CD, and the 16-bit Final Fantasy games, do the same.

Hey thanks for tips earlier guys; I beat that repeating monster on my next try. Ameliorite did help (I am playing Pier Solar for the 1st time in a year so I guess I forgot that one. lol)

I also didn't realize I had a jar of Cola to replenish Alina's MP so that helped a lot too. (for more healing)

    Random question:
I was just looking at the "Goodies" section of the menu at the title screen. I just played that dragon flying game for the 1st time w/ mode 7 style graphics. Nice to see it finally.

So here's the question: Was that dragon flying game ALWAYS available at the start of the game, or was it somehow just unlocked? It might have been there all along, without me realizing there were more menu choices further down, that are unseen until u press down...

It gets unlocked once you find all three Mega Drive games. I think you can find Phantasy Star IV, Alien Soldier, and something else I forgot.

^Cool but I just noticed the flying dragon game, and in my inventory I only have 1 game right now, "probably Alien Soldier."

    ALSO gameplay question:

Right now my crew is stuck in an infinite staircase loop. lol (In Cliboe's Dimension.)

So yeah, a staircase on the left and on the right. Going up or down any of them repeats infinitely. lol

Notebook: "I hope this Cliboe guy cooperates with us."

    Any tips guys?

    ...

I'm asking a lot of questions lately, for one reason I am working a lot and I don't actually have a lot of time to put into gaming right now... So I don't want to waste a lot of time if I'm stuck in one spot, longer than necessary... Thanks!
