Well, I’m afraid I’m part of the problem there. I used to sell exclusively on eBay using auctions, but over the past few years it’s become clear that the most effective way to sell on eBay is with BIN. So now when I list something new, I take an average of the lowest five or ten BIN prices to get my list price.

There is zero reason to pay scalper prices. Stock will continue to flow until March/April 2018 at the minimum.

Does anyone really believe what Nintendo is saying though. I have went to one Wal-Mart and that person gave me a grim outlook on it. Granted i'm pretty sure that wasn't a manager but I just don't have confidence in Nintendo to keep the supply up. And I am not driving all over town to find one.

So how are people liking this cookie? How does the gameplay compare to a SNES with component cables or a mod?

Earlier this week I walked into a local EB Games just to chat with the employees and lo and behold, guess who appeared but a dirty, stinking scalper trying to return not one, not two, but 5 NES classic minis! She couldn't sell them for a profit and tried to return them to the store. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

"Well sorry missus but you cannot return any product(s) returned more than 30 days from the date of purchase!"

Outside the store, I offered the scalper $40 for of the unit knowing she would refuse. But I just wanted to wind her up and get a reaction! And she did!

She greeted me with a "f*ck you!"

And I returned the favour with smile and a pleasant "F*ck you too!"

You must be thinking that she was a millennial! Oh no! This lady had grey and white hair and must have been in her mid-50s!

Anyways, after my verbal exchange with the old hag, I walked back into the store and asked the cashier if there are alot of scalpers seeking out the SNES mini. She said yes but that their head office told them that all stores were going to be receiving multiple shipments in the coming weeks and not to worry. If your looking for a SNES mini, you'll get one. She also told me that they will begin refusing to sell the item to any known scalpers.

When I heard this, all I could think was ...
I'm not too worried about it but at the same time i'm not exactly believing Nintendo yet about these restocks, it shouldn't be at the point where people have to wait outside a store hours before opening every time there is a restock like last year with the Nes Classic. Hopefully the scalper situation will be more under control this time, because it honestly makes me not want to buy current Nintendo products in general. That is hilarious about the lady with the Nes Classic's, she really got what she deserved. I personally would have offered her $10 just to piss her off more.

If anything should make one not buy Nintnedo, it's their YouTube shenanigans. Sega fans complained hard enough until they were heard, what are Nintendo fans doing? What they & Sony fans always do.

Dude, just have a look at the Sonic Forces thread and you'll realize the Sega fans aren't any better than the other ones.
People are pushing hard to advocate a piece of shit of a cheapo game as if there's no tomorrow just because the turd has "Sega" and "Sonic" stamped on it.

Was just saying when Sega was trolling You Tubers for playing Sega games, seemed like enough fans complained for Sega to respond.

It's funny to see people selling the box that the SNES Classic came in for $50 on ebay.
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

Makes me recall one You Tuber who put this very well "Stop being a fan! Of anything!"

Yeah, I usually go in that direction. Like the guy said, old Metallica albums were great, now they're shitty and I'm not supporting that by any stretch of imagination.
SNES Classic is a joke of a product and I really don't see any value in it. Zero, zip; nothing.

The same goes for Sonic Forces; it's written "cheap" and "bad" all over it, so I'm not buying it. I bought Sonic Mania though and I have several Sega-published games on Steam. It's just that I don't like to pay for crap, no matter who creates it and who says it's good.

A lot of people still try to convince you that recent Metallica albums are good, just like happens with shitty games made by once-great companies. Street Fighter V is another example. I recently bought Super Street Fighter IV at discount and I think it was a pretty good investment in fun, but I wouldn't pay a dollar to have the utter crap that SFV is.

Money is the only language companies understand. So if you buy shitty stuff you're telling them to keep creating more and more crap.

Now everyone throws up their garbage with a ridiculous Buy It Now, and all it takes is one sale to make that the new price for the item. I'm always annoyed when searching for a game and absolutely nothing appears under the "Auction" tab. Then you get flippers searching for the item to get a sense of its value, seeing the Buy It Now listings, and suddenly thinking their item is worth whatever is the most.

I'm sure if the scalpers were forced to use auctions, we would have seen high prices early on, but those would flatten as demand wanes. With Buy It Now, that never happens. We're stuck with inventory being perpetually inflated far above its actual value to those who want it. The SNES Classic should be fine, but people are just going to horde those $300 NES units until Nintendo decides to put more into circulation.

The BIN wasn't an issue early on when it used to cost money to list items as a BIN and there were insertion and monthly listing fees. The problem is that there is no reason NOT to list as Buy It Now because there are no repercussions. No fee or drawback, the only benefit of listing as an auction is that it's more likely to sell fast if you start it low enough.

BIN was a good format for someone with something rare or obscure that might not necessarily sell or get the proper traction to be noticed within a 7-10 day window. Nowadays though you have people that will list something with a high price and just sit on it forever until it sells, and it makes prices trend higher over time.
