The fact that save states can be used at all immediately casts suspicions on the reasons for using MAME. That's especially true when you have access to real hardware, lie about using it, and the submitted record was not publicly performed live. No-one has to prove that save states were used in order to call Mitchell a cheat; the mere fact that he had the opportunity to use save states, submitted a record that flouted the rules, and then lied about it, makes him one.

Is not necessarily cheating, but there is a separate board and rules. I think he was punished for trying to pass mame as arcade (he assured everyone that there was no chance it was mame and provided that shady arcade board swap video). There are clear sgns of video cuts (saves states loading) but I don't know if the ruling is based on that too.
Why should we care? What has this man ever contributed to society on a practical level?
He runs a grocery store and has his own hot sauce. The guy has achieved everything any man could ever want dude!
You also can have this hot sauce! With a 2 star rating on Amazon, how could you go wrong?

A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."
Well it is like a big time football player. What do they do? Play with balls, but they have great fame for it. The big issue is they hold a lot of social and corporate power. If they had a big name video game star sponsoring a product, it will sell on that merit alone. The fans will be unwavering in their support and like everything the big name star likes. So this led to the ultra-massive inflation of the NES and SNES thanks to James Rolfe and like 10 other Youtubers. Everything has a cause and effect and Billy Mitchel held a lot of sway in the industry, thankfully he didn't really use it.
Well if the Guinness book of world records and twin galaxies revoked his records with plenty of proof to back them up, i would say: Yes definitely.
Shut your mouth foo
I made a Video a days ago
Slayer-1: "Minus 210 degrees...minus 215...minus 220. Why are you still standing?"
