Assassin's Creed Oddyssey-PS4
Ok so despite this game being based in ancient Greece and not Rome the first screen is an obvious reference to Gladiator for fun.
As for the rest. I have always been a huge fan of ancient Greece. I have wanted to see the Parthenon and the Temple of Zeus represented in a game realistically for a couple decades at least in 3D. I have always wanted to explore them as they were when they were at their glory. Sadly not Colossus of Rhodes in this game. Still, I get to live out a fantasy. Ancient Greece was a marvel with things you didn't even think existed for another 1000 years. Herons Steam ball first steam engine. Steam-powered automatic opening doors. Floating statues using magnets. Flamethrowers with Greek fire on ships. Mechanical clocks and technically mechanical computers. Rome and Egypt had some tech we again didn't think the world got until the 1800s. I'm getting ahead of myself. No, that stuff is not in this game but I am fully fascinated by Greek history in the ancient world. And yes the main move in this game is the Spartan Kick and yes you get an Achievement "This is Sparta!" And yes King Leonidas and the battle of Thermopylae with the 300 Spartans is represented in this game(Likely everyone knows this but just in case someone doesn't, yes the battle happened and the movie 300 is a fictionalized take). I love the historical references and yes it does have mythical creatures for fun as well. Medusa, Cyclops a Minotaur and such. It's a fun game and my first AC since ACIV but it has grinding issues. Anyway.here's Wonderwall. I mean a flurry of screens.
