    Neogeo Neo Geo Classic Mini

The rumors have been out for a couple of weeks now, but I didn't want to venture into anything yet until something more substantial would pop-up. Here is the purported look and official games list:

It will also have an HDMI port and two controller ports for something akin to the Neo Geo CD controllers

Honestly, this has me way more excited than the NES and SNES classic minis. The price is rumored btw $100 and $150. With Neo Geo prices as they are today, this is one sweet starter of a collection piece. I can't wait!

To put the size in perspective, the screen is apparently 3.5 inches. Quite small. I'm not sure how many people would actually want to play it that way vs. on a TV.

And this isn't an official announcement, as I understand it.

40 games and no Pulstar? 0/10 won't buy.

100 bucks? I will stick with ports on Switch. Also I don't trust SNK with one of these. Neo Geo X was a mess.

    Life?!...What console is that on?

It has an HDMI out so you can play on a bigger screen.

Aesthetically, I think it looks quite fugly. They should have mimicked the classic red NEO GEO arcade cabinet.

Right. But it seems like a costly gimmick to add a tiny screen and cramped controls when most people are going to play it on a TV.

God that thing looks terrible, I truly hope that's not the real thing.
A Neo Geo mini should look like the top of a big red cabinet, some things can be changed but at least make it resemble a big red.

    like this one.

This unit is based upon the Japanese Neo19 cabinet. It's not nostalgic as the red machines we got, but I think this looks better.

I'd like to know why they never released a SNK Arcade Classics Volume 2. I'd be more interested in that.
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

^I would definitely be interested in that. Or a bigger compilation on the PS4.

As for the look of the Mini, I think it's super cute. I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Companies are horrible at making decent plug-n-plays most of the time except for the Nintendo minis, which tend to get the emulation right. The Neo Geo X was a pretentious gimmick, making people pay $100 for a glorified DIngoo just because NG stuff has a reputation for being so expensive. This is no better. Thankfully, besides Metal Slug, I was never interested in SNK products because they focused too much on fighters, one of my least favorite genres.

Isn’t there already a Neo Geo “Mini” with that console/handheld thing that was released a few years back?

That was the Neo Geo X, the one I said is virtually a glorified Dingoo.
