I was so looking forward to this. As someone who would love to do a Mega Drive game but is an artist and cant handle programming, anything like this promised to be is very useful. Is this totally dead?

Maybe you could contact Humble Bundle to propose your software there?
With a better exposure you could reach out to more people and expect better ROI, even with a cheaper price?
