I'm not bothered by the art at all. Something has to be tried.
I would need confirmation of a couple things before the idea of getting this becomes a glimmering thought in the back of my head though:
1) Physical release.
2):
<- Why would I ever give up my favorite play style?
I'm a bit torn. I am really happy we are getting a new game, but I'm just not sure about it. The art style I'm not a fan of, but I could see it growing on me if the game is REALLY good. I'll need to see extensive gameplay footage before I can form a judgement.
I hope not. Still cant play Wind Waker Wii U without x axis inversion.
Max/Adam/Asian cyborg are SoR's "easy mode" that's why everyone keeps wishing they were on the game, hehe

Wait until we see the actual game. Could still be early development, or actually a cheap mobile phone game.
BTW, cartoon antic like this one had nothing to do with 16 bits game and ended up being one of the most beautiful 2D animated fighting game: https://twitter.com/ratcasket/status/789639829474598912
It's true that this looks anatomically incorrect. The legs are too short compared to the torso. On the other hand, the right arm is really long. There is no squash and stretch effect in this frame so as is, it looks a bit deformed. There is still time but all in all, I really think they should make some of their ingame characters look taller/stretch their height and legs length because here they look as if they have been shrunk.
There's a certain charm that comes from the attempt to create / emulate something that can't be achieved; like how 16 bit hardware tried to create images like those above. It succeeded to the degree that it looked like a hand drawn image viewed through a kaleidoscope.
When you see a crisp image like above it loses the charm somehow, but would look good if you hadn't seen the original pixel art style.
Zelda was still made by the main team and was a full-on production with the full backing of NCL, big difference for me that . This seems a very typical Sammy quick cash in, very much like Phantasy Star for the mobile. Its not the 1st time a SEGA been knocked for a new look, The same happened with Shinobi on the Saturn and when AM#1/WOW 1st showed off HOTD III cel-shaded gfx there was a backlash and the team had to start again, never mind Golden Axe on the PS3 and 360. . The new looks seem to lose all the atmospheric art direction from the MD series and its gritty style. This just looks like its done on the cheap, and when you contrast it to what Ubisoft did for Rayman sequels in 2D using the amazing UbiArt Framework tech.
I'm all for SEGA using its IP, but like to see SEGA Japan development and for them to be serious productions, rather than this or that PS game for the mobile. Making scrolling beat them ups is really hard, and why even to this day none have been able to better SOR II.
Panzer Dragoon Zwei is
one of the best 3D shooting games available
