The Sega Video Processor (polygon processor) used in Virtua Racing uses that clock signal...not sure if the 32x does as well. You would probably be better of wiring up your own crystal oscillator.

Epicenter has instructed everyone to avoid the use of 13MHz clock found in the system. And to Robivy64 - please find the 68010 complatibility list, I got a weird clone and I think it has 68010 inside, but I'm not sure yet (Sonic 3 doesn't run along with some other games I have).

Does anyone have a place I could order a 68010 for Genesis modding?

My early MD1 which has region and language switches and RSC outs fitted to the back.

there was scratches there before I fitted the switches, not the neatest but good enough

before I soldered the wires onto the outs, just to show where the outs are mounted

I have another one which I modded but its not as neat and I mounted the rca outs on the top half

well since I pulled out my other MD last night to overclock I got some pictures of it.

A MD1 revision 2. Also all the RF sheilding still fits unmodded some guides say just bin it whenyou mod but I prefer to keep things.

This is a pic of the clock pin on the ecu with a wire soldered to it and you can see the cut trace on the board

during some testing, the red and brown wires are on the different clock speed pins on the cart slot, note the black wire from the pic I soldered on, I just twsited the wires, I had a temp set up with a switch but the twisting method worked better

the RCA mounts on the top half of the case and not in line, oh well they do the job anyway

this picture shows a few things, the black wires from the headphone pins on the main boards plug to the RCA's at the back for stereo sound, the bundle of wires running over the board are for the 50/60hz and jap/english language switches. You can't see it but at the back you have the wire coming up the through the hole for the ext port for the composite video to the RCA. If you look at the cart slot you can see I trimmed the balck wire down nice and short for the clock from the cart slot, in this pic its in pin 19 which is standard clock.

Anyway its staying at 13.4mhz as theres no problems at all with any of the games tested so far.

What a mess :P I would have used thinner wires.

Its a revision 5 or 6 MD1, depending on the right square chip. These models are known to be highly overclockable. You could try 16MHz or even more.

in the othe rmegadrive I have the one above, I did use much thinner wires.

That one was my first one and wanted to make sure the signal was clean so used quite thick wiring.

The wires are still thinner than segas jumper wires though (the purple, brown and blue ones).

I never took a picture of the switch mountings on that oen either as I slipped with the drill and one is sort of J shaped, I also glued them in, much prefer the screws which I used on the new one.
