A 200 dollar mini console that plays saturn games... yes please!
Maybe it costs more cuz it has reprogrammed versions of VC and HOTD with HD light gun support :-J
Neo Geo for consoles was the same market as a Ferrari is for cars. Enthusiast with deep pockets system. That hasn't changed as a collectors market. It's now that expensive classic that only a few have. In the US they did market the system as you need steel balls to buy it but it was 90s advertising in general trying to be edgy.
So in all actuality, what do we think is going to be on this system?
As long as you're willing to concede a point or two. Like I said, The Neo*Geo wasn't marketed towards casual gamers. If it was the system wouldn't be so damn expensive. And no I'm not gonna ban you for having an opinion. Unless you use the word "Tosh" too much. lol
@Baloo, People are hoping for the major hitters. I'm thinking Xenogears will be one along with Tenchu and a few select others.

You seem to forget about the Neo Geo CD A system that despite its perfect ports, a system that was priced in line with current consoles of the time and with all of those millions of Neo Geo Arcade fans, it still sold in low numbers, its not even like SNK ports of its Arcade games sold in massive numbers on consoles like the Saturn, PS, PSP, PS2 either
So I find it highly questionable that one can make a case for the Neo Geo Mini, Mattel, CBS but not for the Saturn mini, other than the fact I quite the Saturn (so lets hate on it, the Wondermega and the Mega CD becasue TA likes them) .
So I would put to you a Saturn mini with scanlines and decent emu (which is now completely possible even on modest PC) The whole Saturn Panzer Dragoon series, The Dragon Force series (in English), The Shining Force III series (in English) Grandia (in English), RSG, Guardian Heroes, Burning Rangers, Thunder Force V, Fighting Mega Mix, Nights, Christmas Nights Sega Rally, Decathlete, Die Hard Arcade, Exhumed, Radiant SilverGun would be more appealing than a Neo Geo, CBS, Mattel mini.
Given it be emu, SEGA wouldn't need the source code for Saga , Grandia already been translated in the main, the Dragon Force and Shining Force III have already been translated by fans it would be much work on that side. If SEGA did that for £100 I'm pretty sure they'll sell more than half a million units no trouble at all.
SEGA should follow SONY lead on this

No I didn't forget about it. The NeoCD ports weren't arcade perfect. Not even close. Also the NeoCD system was also very costly compared to the other systems at the time. The NeoCD system also has a very VERY slow CD drive. Neo games on that system are plagued with beyond awful loading times. If you're going to mention the Neo*Geo then it has to be the home cart system. It was overpriced compared to anything else at the time and was a rich kid's system. To say otherwise and even use it as a basis for an argument is beyond foolish.
I don't see a Sega Saturn mini happening. At all.

The Neo Geo CD actually cost less than the Sega Saturn on its launch in Japan and in the UK launched at the same price of the Pal Saturn and I highly doubt load times are what put off those million of SNK Arcade fans.
The Neo Geo was brought out to appeal to the masses and not for the rich kids, hence the move to CDs for the medium. Sadly it didn't take off, but there again SNK appeal as always been very niche.. despite its 'millions' of fans in the Arcades
So if one can make a case and get funding for the likes of Neo Geo mini, and systems like the CBS, C64 and Zx Spectrum . I can't see why can't do the same for the Saturn. Other than I like the Saturn, so let's just dismiss it out of hand, because TA likes it

I love Saturn. Fuck other consoles mwahahaha with SATURN NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
.
I don’t recall seeing a NEO-CD at all in North America, and a rarely saw the NEO-GEO either. The one time I’d thought that I was going to buy a used NEO-GEO, it turned out that all they had was a display box. The games were also extremely expensive.
The NEO-GEO home console was never marketed as a mass market product, even with the CD. It’s library was way too small. It was a boutique console.
And speaking of the NEO-GEO classic hardware that has been released. The couple of systems that have been released were panned for being buggy and of very poor quality. Even my old laptop from 2006 could run NEO-GEO games better than that, so no, I don’t expect a Saturn classic to run well at all.

A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."
