I’m on my stupid phone. It’s a pain to proof read.
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

Funny that, when one makes out that more people would have heard of, or seen the Master System in the US to that of the Neo Geo, you took issue.

The Neo Geo CD was SNK push to make a console that the masses could afford. But SNK never had the games or the 3rd parties to make that happen, even if the Neo Geo CD was priced just a bit more than the Saturn in Japan and in the UK priced the same (&399) but it came with a game and 2 joypads.

So if can make a case for such a niche system, one can do that for a Mini Saturn: A visit to ETA Prime YouTube channel shows the adv of Saturn emu even on moddest systems, never mind thst a SEGA product would have funding to pay the Emu team.

Anyway before im reported and given the last rights. I'll get back on Topic and just say i hope SONY takes a lead and allows the PS mini to be hooked up to the web and people able to download PS games via PSN like they can on the Vita, PS 3 PSTV Ect..

That be a class move and make it a must have imo

It's already been confirmed that's not the case.
It's just like any other retro plug & play console with a fixed number of games within it and no chance to expand the library without hacking.

And speaking of the NEO-GEO classic hardware that has been released. The couple of systems that have been released were panned for being buggy and of very poor quality. Even my old laptop from 2006 could run NEO-GEO games better than that, so no, I don’t expect a Saturn classic to run well at all.
Neo Geo CD sold 120K outside japan while Neo Geo AES only 60K so you can imagine how hard was to find one in western markets.

Neo Geo CD was too little too late.
Neo Geo console main appeal was to play 2D arcade perfect conversions at home but by 1995, 2D gaming was losing steam due to all the excitement around 3D gaming which was the new hot thing (in US 2D game sales collapsed and all the best sellers on PS1, Saturn and N64 were polygonal based).
Most were longing for 3D arcade game conversions on Saturn or PS1.

Oh and there is no problem emulating well Neo Geo on these mini consoles.
From what I understand the problem with how the Neo Geo Mini run the games fine for the most part, the problem is the filter available (which is something like Super-Eagle which is quite nasty).

That's rather crap then. Think the corps should make it easier for people to buy classic games legally and to be able to play them, more so with the likes of Nintendo going after the rom sites and the original games getting harder to find and going up in vaule.

TA, you just repeated what I’d said about why the NEO CD wouldn’t sell well. It didn’t have enough software, or software variety to be a commercial success.

The NEO GEO X had screen tearing and image quality issues. The mini’s biggest issue is the Soddy controller. These race to be cheap consoles always have issues because they use the cheapest parts available. My Coleco Flashback should have no issues running that old software, yet Scramble locks up the unit.

I’m pretty sure that most of those system not made by Nintendo haven’t sold more than 50k units and were just a quick cash grab that took advantage of the few that had nostalgia for those failed systems.

I don’t think that having less units sold than the Atari Jaguar can be considered a moderate success.

There's a lot of legality that has to be dealt with. As much as I like to see preservation, it's not as simple as you think.

I get issues over music and voices acting rights. But for In House games or PS games already up on PSN to download and can played via emu, on systems like the Vita I don't.

Given the PS had so many games and good ones at that. 20 games will be a drop in the ocean.

TA it would be easier for Sega to do a mini Master System console but it's pretty clear that Sega forgot this and the Saturn actually ever existed.

This is not for gamers. It's for people wanting a nostalgia fix.

I’d buy a mini Master System. That would be pretty cool. Just don’t let At Games anywhere near it.
