Coast 2 Coast is a graphical downgrade for Xbox, because the PS2 was the lead platform for that game, while Outrun 2 was brought over to only the Xbox and it took advantage of the Xbox hardware.
    Nope.

OutRun 2 for the Xbox, despite the name, is a port of 2 SP with even more additions: a "Mission" mode, a further two new cars, online play, brand new arranges of the main Out Run songs by Richard Jacques plus various versions of the new OutRun 2 songs, and two new sets of driving routes based on Scud Race and Daytona USA 2: Power Edition (not available in any other version of the game).
The courses are different and the physics are changed. From Retro.

Not exactly. Outrun 2 on Xbox has those 2 added tracks and those Xbox modes, but it is not Outrun 2 SP. The new arranged music is an unlockable item, btw, as is the original Outrun arcade game.

OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast retains all the cars from the arcade OutRun 2, OutRun 2 SP and the Xbox OutRun 2, but adds an extra three, taking the total to 15.
The only thing I got wrong was the release date of the Xbox version of Outrun 2, which was 2004, not 2003.

A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

But it is lol. Outrun 2 has different courses and physics, and has never been played outside of the arcade. Not on Xbox, not anywhere.

OutRun 2 for the Xbox is an entry in the OutRun series of games. Despite its name and contrary to popular belief, it is not a straight port of the arcade game OutRun 2, instead building on the content seen in OutRun 2's upgrade, OutRun 2 SP.

You're wrong! Sega Retro contradicted itself with the post I'd linked about Coast 2 Coast.

All of these additions are aimed at adding to the ease or challenge and most importantly, enjoyment of the playing experience. The new edition has ten cars available. In addition to the eight cars available in Outrun 2 F40, F50, Enzo, 360 Spider, Testarossa, 288 GTO, Dino 246 GTS and 365 GTS/4 Daytona, the new edition of this driving game boasts the 250 GTO and 512 BB. Also added to the Special Tours edition is the option for players to change the colour of their car simply by tapping the gear lever. Some of the advanced playing features unique to OutRun 2 SP Special Tours include the slipstream technique, where a player can pull in behind another car and enter its slipstream to increase their own speed. In a slipstream, the 250 GTO can increase its speed by over 20 kilometres an hour. Another added feature in the new game is the increased ease of play, as players receive less damage and less speed reduction when they crash their car.
The slipstream technique was not in Outrun 2 for the Xbox. Outrun 2 SP also came out around the same time as Outrun 2 on the Xbox. Do you honestly believe that Sega would kill the arcade game by offering the same game on the Xbox for the home?

Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast introduced the slipstream technique that was not in Outrun 2 arcade, or Outrun 2 on Xbox. The Xbox version of Coast 2 Coast (as well as the PS2 version) was a port of Outrun 2 SP from the Japan only PS2 game, with a few added cars and features. That's why I said that Coast 2 Coast on the Xbox was a graphical letdown on the console.

Outrun 2 is not an 8th gen game. This is an 8th gen topic.

You are being nasty and learn to get facts correct. OutRun 2 is included in OutRun 2006 in its complete form and for added irony, the PC version also needs Windows and Direct X too

Really? You’ve been policing your topics ever since you saw Barone doing it. I’d recommend that you don’t.

There's a lot of facts you've been "nasty" about also when it's obvious you're not listening to what's being said.

    Reading is fundamental, isn’t it?

Damn, Retro led me astray. Everything I know is in doubt now. I do know the original 2 tracks are in C2C as an unlockable or something similar.

I can't believe Barone left over the most trivial thing ever.

    Thank you!

I’ve caught SEGA Retro making mistakes in the past.

FINALLY! Someone else has noticed it. It gets fucking annoying reading through a thread and having SegataS acting like a MiniMe version of a moderator complaining about his precious topic going a teeny bit off topic. Just because you created the topic doesn't mean you own it. Suck it up buttercup.

Several pages about Outrun 2 is a tad annoying and the other times it's because TA annoys the fuck out of me because he fucking derails everything with his relentless stupidity. He's the topic killer. As soon as he triple posts in a topic, it's to argue his shit opinion as fact over and over until no one wants to post in it anymore.

EDIT but I will take it down a little after today. So apologies to you and everyone else.
