Fire Shark is awesome. Of course Thuderforce III and IV(Lightening Force) are incredible as well. I also really like Arrow Flash although many would probably disagree. Right now, I only have those four shmups. I plan on getting a dozen plus more.

Thunder Force 3 takes the crown for me, with a nod to TF4, Hellfire, Gaiares and Truxton. I'm sure there are others of equal or greater quality to the runners up, but I can't afford some of the more exotic shooters. If we include run'n'gun, Contra makes the honorable mention list as well.

My personal favorites are TF3, Space Harrier II and MUSHA (I like the art direction in each of these). Gaiares is good too, but it's hard, so I never get anywhere.

Air Buster I think might be an underrated one?
