heart Ecco the Dolphin Comics: VIDEO Read-Through, w/ Sega CD Music

...I made this vid out of love for the series, including its amazing CD music.

"Ecco the Comic" series ran briefly in the 90's, as a small stream-off of Sonic the Comic, in the UK. (So most of the world never saw any of these comics at the time, except the UK.)

Ecco the Comic is surprisingly good: It's pretty faithful to the games, well-written, with both the writing and artwork improving during the series, and the artwork becomes beautiful.

I made this vid to be an easy way for anyone to read through the ENTIRE comic series, in 1080p, and with Sega CD soundtrack.

I was a big fan of Sonic the Comic when I was a kid, and I remember the Ecco comic strip very well. It had great stories and was beautifully illustrated. I didn't know that it was unique to the UK. Nice upload Ecco, thanks for the memories.

Wow that dolphin really gets around, even around Giger's aliens. Thanks it was very interesting.

As a fan did you play all the Ecco games? Even Ecco jr.?

^Haha yeah, by now I've basically played them all...

I've written on the site about the more obscure Ecco games that I've played over the years:

--check out my recent review of Japanese Ecco cart, it's the most updated cart version!

--I have a Hands-On article of 32-bit Ecco PC, which is amazing!!

--Ecco Jr. I have played, lol, it's worth it for some nice music, etc. I have a Double-Take article on Genesis Ecco Jr., and a Hands-On of Ecco Jr. on the Pico.

So just look up those features if you want to read about those less common games. Something amazing about the series is that every game is worth playing.

    ...

I'm currently finishing a review of Game Gear Tides of Time, which is rather the "black sheep" (black dolphin?) of the series, lol.

    ...

One Ecco game I haven't played yet, is one of the LCD games. I have the first LCD game but not the 2nd one yet. Once I have both then I'll probably write about them for the site. There was a whole line of LCD games that was based on SEGA Genesis & Saturn games, lol.

--While I've owned the DC game forever, and played it occasionally, I've never gotten any good at it. So that would be a new gameplay experience if I ever tried to legit play through the DC game.

--There's also the DC prototype of a sequel, which is playable, but I might never get around to it...

--There's also a cool hack version of 16-bit Tides of Time, which I need to finish writing about sometime. I think its emulator only works in Windows and my PC's died, I'm on a Mac, so I need to get that running again...
