Media Has anyone ever noticed this?

Between the 1 minute and 13 seconds, mark and the 1 minute and 32 second mark should sound familiar.

Starting at 57 seconds to 1:20

Which of course is a verse in it Doesn't Matter

    1:25.

Did Sonic pay tribute even if just a couple notes to Quartet?

    Life?!...What console is that on?

Sega did that with some frequency. They were never ones to waste a catchy melody. I forget which MD game it was, that had music from Daytona USA in it.

    Ichidant-R

(footage from the Mega Drive version since I have that at hand, the other versions have better renditions)

But yeah, let's not forget that the Special Stage theme from Sonic 3 (& Knuckles) was originally written for SegaSonic Bros (and some of the other tracks were repurposed elsewhere, including even the Japanese Sega Channel).

Nothing beats Alex Kidd in Shinobi World referencing Mega Anser out of all things (though given how Mega Anser's soundtrack feels in general, I'm going to guess that both of them are actually repurposing a track from something else).

Nice catch. I wonder who worked on the soundtrack for that game.

There are a lot of these in the Sonic series itself because Sega's in-house composers weren't shy about reusing melodies. Here's one I always liked. Sound familiar?

I couldn't find any footage of the UFO game for the arcade version, but here's the track for it.
