Bought this Mega drive from Ebay , listed as brand new . I was slightly hesitant as after research it looked like a HK-PAL version.
I had to open it to make sure it was genuine , what does every one else think ?

Looks like an authentic asia model to me, though that box is iffy (I thought they used the JP art? I could be wrong though).
Does the seller offer more of those?

I'm surprised you'd open up a console listed as 'brand new' up. Pretty much ruins the collector's value in it. Of course if you don't open it I suppose you don't know if it's legit. 20/20.

To be fair the console is still brand new as its not been used. The screws went back into the same holes they came out of . Nothing is "Sealed" so wouldn't have known if it was unscrewed before hand.
