Hey Tulio, cheer up! Bad day already?
Of course we all know these things are fake!
That's what makes them funny!

Not when people are taking them as the real thing (and we know how delusional the whole situation has gotten on all fronts).
Sometimes I wish we could just kill Paprium for good.
I like it already. The introduction can be like "Fonzie has stolen the money of thousands of customers... are YOU a bad enough dude to track him down and make him pay?" You catch up with him at a nightclub in France where you have to battle his henchmen but he gets away, then at the end you have the final showdown at the Magical Games Factory.
I would pre-order that on day one.
Forget what I said about Copland earlier; this is shaping up to be the Creeping Terror of the 21st century. The parallels are striking: a con man (Vic Savage / Arthur J. Nelson / Arthur Nelson White) gets a bunch of investors to sink money into a potential blockbuster sci-fi movie, only to run into massive production problems (the actual monster suit being repossessed after non-payment to the special effects designer, so they had to cobble this sad looking carpet together at the last minute) and... well, see for yourself:
Hey all ...
This "Papirium" begin to take a part between my different project.
I've never done a "Beat'm'all" before that, and in my head, it was a secret dream .. Because the artwork asset is really really huge for this ! ( Background, Sprite, Animation, etc ... )
BUT .. since yesterday, I have a new feeling to try what I can for this.
Here is Papi "Rumble" Old man !
I really dont have the Skill from the original Paprium Crew, but it will be a way to put Papi on a "16 bits" way .. The original Design, since 2014, was really "8 bits".
Cheers, and stay tuned !

I like both but Papirium already looks more like the style of a Genesis game, Paprium looks like it was drawn for the Neo Geo.
I'd still like to see a game with the huge Paprium sprites but I bet it would end up being a one-on-one fighter, I can't see the Genesis handling all those huge sprites at once (or at least, no one has made that work yet).
Most of the shading is trash, which is one of the strong areas of "Neo Geo graphics".
The key frames have issues with several of the transitions between moves being abrupt. There's a fluidity that it lacks IMO.
Not all characters in Paprium are that huge. But, yes, they're on the big side.
Crude Buster already had some big enemies (especially some of the bosses) back in 1992 with an 8 Mbit cart.
And don't forget Final Fight CD.
In terms of one-on-one games, I think Final Blow has the biggest characters, with the judge being rendered with actual tiles.
I'd go with papi-rum its based in the future where alcoholism is rife due to a new blue rum distilled in an underground factory.
I do like the idea of basing it around Fonz and the magical game factory. Maybe you could power up with Gems? And if you have too many gems you turn to the dark side and become too entangled in WM.
I think you need Barone as an unlockable character going for his refund too!
Don’t forget the cans of Paprium soda to replenish energy, gained by smashing a dummy ‘Paprium’ arcade machine.
