Even james pond games have some hacks XD (even if they are minimal) or games like "back to the future on Nes.
I dont like paprium gameplay as it is now, but no one can say that the game doesnt have potential.
With hitstun and hitboxes fixes and damage balance (jumpkicks), the game will feel a lot better.
The AI and the one frame animations attacks will be more difficult to fix i think.
A lot of people were not paid and left the project.

Haha, of course it was you that scanned it. Credit has been added, as well as all the screenshots. Thanks! (I should really get some capture hardware... newest thing I have is a noname composite USB "VHS converter" that requires WinXP...)
Regarding the Central Park and Reformatory areas-- they can be seen in Wizard Who Says Ni's videos. Here are some timestamped URLs.
Central Park: https://youtu.be/UBoiJDf5R2o?t=937
Reformatory: https://youtu.be/mfAt6JMYIvU?t=161 (Looks like he accesses it by hitting something offscreen-- need to verify this, I got into this area last night but I wasn't really sure what triggered it)
I think he's probably done the BionMart area but I haven't taken time to find it in one of the videos.
How hard can it be to be transparent about shipping?? And apparently asking for a tracking number is too much.
Huh. That's where I thought it would be in Central Park given that there's an obvious X on the wall there, but when I tried last night it wouldn't budge. I'll give it another go soon.
Edit: I managed to get into the Streets of Rage area on Reformatory. You do indeed need to hit something off-screen. I'll try the other two later when I have more time.

I seem to remember that it isn't always clear in that area whether you've defeated all the enemies, sometimes you'll move a little bit and a few more will spawn. Since all the enemies have to be gone before you can break the wall, it can make it seem like it isn't working.
Yeah but you can usually hit the breakable object and hear that you're hitting it before all of the enemies are gone. I'm also pretty sure that I cleared the area before trying it, because the same applies to other hidden doors as well. I think I just focused on the wrong part of the wall, trying to hit the X when you should be hitting the face instead. Maybe with jump kicking I just ended up flying over it, I don't know. I'll try it again in a moment.
Edit: managed to find it that time. You can break the wall after defeating the biker. Oddly this particular spot does not react to hits before you can break it, which is probably part of the reason I couldn't find it before. The hitbox is also in a slightly odd spot; not on the X and not even quite on the face, but rather on the vine just to the left of the face. Once you know where it is it's not hard to open up.

So, first impressions after playing arcade mode for a bit: I like it. As all have said, graphics and sound are A1, nice vibe / atmosphere etc. I actually quite like all the gay stereotypes, that type of depiction comes over as a humorus trope to me, not meant to be taken seriously in any way and entertaining though I get others see it differently. I think they complement the vibe somehow.
On that, I like the unified graphical theme, as it shows one world off well. SOR 2 was varied, but lacking streets. I like how each part (of what I've seen so far) looks the, same but different.
In a nutshell, it feels like a more fleshed out Final Fight on early plays; not as simple, but in need of a bit more complexity. Both those games get away with any shallowness with entertainment in other areas.
Not a turd, but no diamond either.
@NeoVamp: Haha! thanks for the empathy. It's clear that I'm not alone in my sentiments.
On a positive note, at least Paprium has inspired me to start putting my game development knowledge to use. Over the past few months I've been working on a beat'em up demo that has SOR heavy style mechanics. So far there is a 'kind viewer' like in SOR2 beta, dashing movement, forward offensive attacks, combos sensitive to button mashing, 3 different aerial attack states, scrolling planes, and some Galsia AI that could rival what is seen in Paprium.
Probably won't amount to much though as I am one person and couldn't possibly handle all the asset creation alone. Still, along with finishing my degree it's been something productive to do while being cooped up during the pandemic.
Well it looks like the ROM file has gotten dumped already on January 20, 2021. I don't know how legit this claim is to be honest but if it is true, then it only took 41 days to do. Here is the link to the source I heard it from.
