I hear ya. And I think your comment is fair. And I'm also hoping that your comment comes from a burning and deep desire to see more of ProjectY
I don't know GoldenBoy but we've exchanged a few emails and my impression is that he's an excellent Dude. I have a lot of trust and faith in WM and I have no doubt ProjectY will become a reality.

And like most of us I'm really really really eager for this game!
Maybe this thread will help encourage WM to show us something much more substantial? Here's hoping!

Being harsh would be me outlining how fake games, with no actual intention of ever existing outside of hoaxes, Jokes, and conceptual content, provide more meat on the bone than this. What's harsh is a dev team that's sitting on dozens of dozens of pages of comments on their game, which they've purposely withheld even the smallest information, examples, or concrete proof of actual existence, and they find it perfectly suitable to ask US for content.

At the very least, the very least, expect us to crack some jokes and bust your balls a bit. This cagey attitude about your game was charming for all of 10 minutes.

While I would like to see more of Project Y, it's not really difficult to understand why they're hesitant to release more when there's a rabid crowd of slightly unbalanced individuals ready to criticize every tiny thing in the game down to the proportion of the feet.

Sometimes it's easier to work when you aren't fretting over keeping the impossible-to-please fans happy.

I don't want to criticize the game at all, I just want to know what's going on with it, when's it coming out, what does it freaking look like in motion... Ha, seriously, I refuse to feel guilty for asking for the absolute bare minimum...

Like it or not, this is a crowdfunded project and whoever put their money into it has the RIGHT to have a say. Also, their target audience should be respected and not roughly treated when not in completely awe due the abysmal communication and marketing job they're doing.
If they aren't adult and professional enough to handle criticism, questions and community feedback they shouldn't have chosen this business model in the first place.

Yes, I agree they have an obligation to share more because of that.

When developers are extremely quiet about their game and refuse to show much of it off, I just assume the game is shit and they are hiding it until release.

    Wouldn't be the first time.

I've been here volontarilly sharing as much as it is possible. I've been working on this project on my own time. Never complained to anyone. Its been 13 years ive been working in te Gaming Industry, worked on Chrono Trigger Resurrection for all of us fans, and am curently working on the latest Deus Ex. And honestly some of these kind of responses really makes me sad.

Sure there has been a lack of news on this game an I cannot do anything about it. Excep I have been here in and out giving news and answering poeples questions for the past 2 years trying to make a fun game for all of US fans of the Sega Genesis. And this is the kind of responses and inpatience I get from such a small forum community ?

I really like this website but I think its time for me to take a brake from posting.

You guys announced the game on our forums Sept. 2012. If less than 10 images , almost no information, no gameplay examples, and almost constant dododging and ducking of any requests for examples of the game is all that is being offered, you have to expect some flack.

2+ years and you guys have shown damn near nothing, what the hell do you expect when you come here and request fan art? Again, and I say this because your tone communicates some sort of expected leeway in regards to base level expectations, but I refuse to feel guilty for expecting the very least from a group of experienced, talented developers and artists. Stating your past accomplishments doesn't make me regretful for stating my opinion. You have to expect some BS after 2 years of showing essentially no progress. I didn't contribute to the crowdfund, but if I had, you'd be hearing a hell of a lot more. This is not normal, this is not okay, and frankly, I feel sorry for the people that did contribute because this is easily the worst example of fan service focused crowd sourced indi-game dev I've ever seen, right next to Peir Solar for the DC.

I truly apologize if my opinion is hurtful, of harsh, but enough is enough. At some point you're just being abusive in regards to the time investment your potential customers make. It's kinda messed up...

I think your points are valid, but you're addressing them to the wrong person. What do you expect XGoldenboyX to do? He's stated numerous times that he agrees with people here and has asked Fonzie to release more. You and Barone see him as an easy target and bully/criticize him for whatever reason, but I don't know what more you expect him to do. He's trying to bring something positive to a situation that he also is not happy about.

How can you consider people stating there opinion bullying. I've never straight up attacked him, in fact, in that same post I stated that my disappointment is due to the talent I KNOW is on the team, and the complete lack of content made availaavailable. He never gets crap unless he attempts to defend such an obviously weak position.

I completely understand you think we should give him a break, and seriously, it bothers me that a game I honestly am looking forward to, receives so much criticism from me. But I also think that treating this game like anything other than a running joke at this point, gives it too much credit.

I don't think you've really "bullied" him (I'm sure he can take care of himself), but I don't get the point of directing all this angst towards the one WM member who regularly posts in this thread. He's already said he can't do anything about releasing more info. He has no obligation to post here so what's the point? Chase him off?

Pretty sure the game will be awesome. No need to complain about how you're not being treated fair by the devs. I personally would have preferred NOT to see those screenshots at all and just have the game be all new and exciting to me when booting it up. Pretty sure it will be worth the wait.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

I would agree with this if it was not a crowdfunding project, unfortunately that's not the case.

    This thread: http://www.polygon.com/2013/8/15/462...support-groups

Developers, both named and those who wish to remain anonymous, tell Polygon that harassment by gamers is becoming an alarmingly regular expected element of game development. Some developers say the problem was among the reasons they left the industry, others tell Polygon that the problem is so ubiquitous that it distracts them from making games or that they're considering leaving the industry.
Just because a game is crowdfunded does not mean the devs must supply you with anything or concede to your demands.

    From the WM FAQ:

FF4. What do I get for my investment in a project?
Magical Game Factory investments offer access to voting and conversion features.
