Hopefully there won't be any "reprint" labeling. Who likes having "Greatest Hits" stuff on their shelves? There's really no reason I can see to put "reprint" or "Greatest Hits" or the like on a packaging anywhere. If someone can produce a viable reason for such packaging to exist, especially in the homebrew market where everything is mail order only, please post.

To make the 1st ones sell for stupid money on ebay. Lol. I'm sure they will be different as they are doing an investors copy again. It's going to be different. If they go to clams (like I would prefer) then you will be able to tell the difference between the 2 easily. Somebody over on the thread posted that they checked out a youtube video of the classic edition of pier solar and it looks better than a clam. I went to check it out and totally disagree. To each their own. Looks like I'm losing on this one though.

I went ahead and posted on the forum tonight. I think WM may find themselves in a sticky situation if they choose one over the other. After reading the thread, it appears that the WM team have the intention to release the game in a cardboard box. If that is the case, the suggestion I made was to include a colorful slip insert for those of us who would prefer to keep the game cartridge and manual in a plastic case. In this way, they can appease both collectors and gamers.

As long as I can buy a WM branded blank case with it, I'm totally cool with that.

I would really like to see it in a beefy plastic clamshell case. Those things are bulletproof compared to cardboard.

A good compromise would be having cardboard for the limited release and plastic clamshell for the bigger release... Like Pier Solar had.

Zebbe, you do realize that you are about to step into a big muddy puddle and your feed are going to get wet! I hope you brought a towel to clean your feet! I'll supply the soap to wash your feet! Irish Spring, Ivory, or unscented your choice?

Ah, but how large would the window of time be between the limited release and the bigger release?

That's exactly what I would like to know. I want a clam shell version, but I don't want to wait for forever nor do I want to open and damage cardboard. I just feel stuck.

Both can be released at the same time. The limited one for investors, the other one for others. (Just speculating here)

Sounds like a perfect solution to me. I have invested for 2 copies so if I could get one of each that would be perfect.

This idea would make the most sense without ruffling any feathers! The custom insert could be packaged in such a way as to avoid damaging or creasing it! It would also avoid the extra cost of shipping or forcing the investor's to choose one over the other.

Once the limited editions are gone, the regular editions could be wheeled out at a later stage. But for those who took the time to give WM support for the project, they would be treated with this little perk.

No matter what we do, people will complain. When Pier Solar's limited edition got sold out, it was "unfair" to the people who found out about the game at a later time or didn't afford the game when it was available. So yeah, our feet are always wet, SEGA.GENESIS1989 .
