I just read my email about being an investor to get such a copy. I thought having "invested" my $50 was all I needed. Did I miss-out somehow? Or am I still in for a fine "investor's" copy of the game?

Yes, you'll get an Investor's Edition copy if you invested at least 500 gems before 28th of November.

I'm not sure why my investment says 570 gems right now.

    OK , to clarify everything.

We are really hard at work on the game. And btw is does look really good for a Genesis game, and I think you will be surprised. The hard part for us has been that like Zebbe mentioned allot of artist have claimed to want to help and do either a half assed sprite animation job, ask for too much money , which in my mind ( since I am working on Deus EX Next gen ) these folks on the internet are either delusional or out of their minds for the prices they ask feor a game like this on the genesis.

Also myself included Fonzie and some few aren’t getting paid a penny, we are doing this out of wanting to deliver a great Genesis and Beat em Up game. And it had been really difficult to get high quality animations done as there are so many of them.

Granted the most important ones are already done and will receive a polishing treatment towards end of project.

As for the game itself, I’d say that people will be quite surprised and I can’t wait for us to show you ( hopefully sooner than later) what we have been cooking : )

Thank you all also for your patience, this project as not been easy but will be one more game to remember on our beloved GENESIS ; )

    HEAR that SEGA ?

How much money are people asking for? The problem is, if someone has a rare skill then that naturally costs more. For example I was the best projectionist in town many years ago and I was paid as such. Not because of seniority or anything like that, but because of skill. If you guys can't pay market prices then that's your problem. And ONLY your problem. The final product will show the result of either the cheapness or ambition you all put into it. I for one am not looking forward to voices recorded in a friggin' hallway. Talk about an acoustic hellhole. I don't know how you got (mostly) great graphics in Pier Solar but somehow you can't find anyone any more. What about those guys who worked on the Titan Overdrive demo? I think the management at Watermelon could probably stand to be improved.

    wow! really Joe ?

Seems more like very few people have the skills to do these and sides asking for hundreds of dollars for a few animation frames or day is insane, it’s like paying tens of thousands of dollars for all animations in the game ? what about the rest ?

We’ve seen it all..... Anyways, the game is still in production and as for myself I’m not paid a penny. it’s all out of love to create a game for us and you guys on the Genesis. This coming from myself as I have been working in the Industry for over 13 years in games such as the latest Tomb Raider and the Next Gen Deus Ex. And I still find so many people that come and go on this beat em up with little hard work involved into it. I guess Genesis standards arent for everyone, people always want the easy way out.

In any case those who really want to make it happen are hard at work. And we have quite a few extra surprises that I think people will be quite impressed.

    T`il next time!

It's COMPLETELY different to make small RPG graphics with very few animations compared to make huge beat 'em up sprites with many animations. The latter is much harder, takes much more time and costs much more money. Now I'll exaggerate, but it's sort of like expecting Picasso to draw something like Mona Lisa. It's just not his style.

Anyway, that problem is now a thing of the past and things are shaping up.

You won't see me investing in anything except shmups or platformers.

If they were indeed asking hundreds of dollars per day for for a few frames, then yes I agree perhaps they were asking too much. Still, $200 a day isn't bad or too expensive. That's only $25 an hour for an 8 hour day. Within that time they could definitely get more than a few frames done I would hope.
