All the effort clearly went into the graphics, there's a 20 min video on youtube showing off a lot of the "game", and it's all just really nice looking backgrounds and glitched up sprites.
I somehow expected more than this, at least some enemies moving around with crappy patterns.

All these years for that? Yikes.

Hey guys, long time no see.
I'm a little bit disappointed for this, but somewhat I keep thinking that this was a beta done some time ago and Fonz only showcased it to keep the secret of the final product.
However, I DO AGREE that move is just what we say in Portugal: um tiro no pé (a shot in the foot). That just made (even more) mad the customers!!
Graphically speaking, the game looks great IMO. I just don't like the sprite for the selection highlight... That kinda looks 89-90 to me, not a high-end MD game. Too bad we couldn't hear GrooveMaster303 epic OST
Let's keep the fingers crossed... and light one more candle for this game.

There's a weird discussion in the French comments on Facebook.
I wondered if anyone who is or knows French could work this out for me. It sounds like he made a load of excuse at the event for not releasing. Could someone confirm this?

Agree. I think it is a terrible idea what has been done. I understand that he wants to keep things running for a surprise, but what you said makes much more sense.

Fonzie had asked me to come but I couldn't attend in the end. In any case, the fact there was no actual gameplay footage is pretty worrisome. How can he tell people the game will soon be shipped... As others have said, even if it was just a buggy PCB or something like that, the game is still not going to be ready for release for another many months (best case scenario). Once finished, it would have to undergo lengthy playtesting and debugging, and then the production process will take a while.

They said that has a playable version runnig on PC, maybe that is the version of Goldenboy was played, but make it runs on MD is a whole different story and it can explain the bugs
