YOU SHALL NOT ATTEMPT !
If not, what ?
Crash ?
Glitch ?
Score exploit ?
No it's intentional he's telling you you're not allowed to play them, if Fonzie catches you playing Spinal or Rhondo in original mode he will use megawire 5.0 to disable your brain remotely.
Who knows, maybe it's someone pissed about not having been payed. Maybe it's a trick to get our expectations so low that when we finally play it, we realize the game is actually good and the video was just a decoy. But that's just dumb...
After all we've experienced so far, I believe no one can be that hyped about PAPRIUM unless it's Fonzie himself or someone related to WM. Even his profile picture and location say "PAPRIUM"!
I bet it'll catch fire and explode. Or it's like the recent Jumanji movies and if you pick Spinal or Rondo you're sucked into the game as one of them.
It is.
As I said elsewhere I will review the game after I get it. It's very own episode. But I'm not gonna try to be first with the review. Gonna spend some time with it. Might take several days after it lands in my hands or even over a week before I put up a video about it. I won't show any of the later levels and I usually try not to do that unless it's really brief.
This is getting funnier by the hour. Now you can't even select certain playable characters?
Normally when it's a homebrew title I accept that some bugs are just part of the experience, it's hobbyists doing this out of love etc but not when you've had a relatively big budget and a guy who's spent 8+ years hyping this up as the greatest game ever to grace the Mega Drive.
According to his fans, Fonzie is supposed to be a genius, the bethoveen of the MD, the potara fusion of Carmack and Romero for the 68000, the Zeus of the VDP, the Galaxy brain of the DMA.
After all, HE created Pier Solar.
Nevermind that there was a whole team behind as well
But this contains the legendary Datenmeister, ja? Me as se german here get very excited when I hear se magick werds!

Oh boy. I didn't have high hopes for this game, and was trying to keep low enough expectations. But every time I open this thread, my expectations sink a little deeper.
Barone was actually overhyping the game by calling it a glorified tech demo. I don't expect tech demos to be that much of a mess.
I hadn't registered that bit about increasing the prices as they sell the remaining LE versions. I don't buy that Paprium will have the same mark up as a first edition Pier Solar. Times have changed, the scene back then was in its infancy and not as popular or well known. Nowadays we get new releases for the mega drive several times a year with those who are interested in the scene making sure they have backed or pre-ordered the games. Therefore the after market scramble for a homebrew title that may have been missed involves fewer numbers. Add in the fact that there will be a number of pre-orders made with the sole reason of selling it for a mark-up on eBay you end up with supply outweighing demand.
To me the only edition that will see a considerable mark-up is the investors edition as that is truly limited. But given the farce over Paprium, unless the gameplay is good, I just don't think there's that positive hype that would ramp up the after market price - certainly nowhere near the hype had it been released in 2017, or earlier.
To me it's more evidence of arrogance and delusion but maybe I'm wrong.
Streetcred level of Fonzie and complaisant followers :

I think this thread is getting out of hand. I understand we have several reasons to be dissatisfied with Watermelon (myself included), but I believe we're all going down a hate spiral here. I also think the hate for Luis here is unwarranted, the dude clearly believes in the project and he's an experienced professional.
Let's not act like he didn't call out Fonzie on a lot of his behavior either. He did so on these forums, on gaming websites and other places. It's not like he has anything to gain from this, he's not making money with each pre-order sold, Fonzie is. I'm not asking everyone to apologize to Luis, but I do think we can ease off a bit, I think we're past the bullying territory for Luis here.
The game is being sent out, I even got a tracking code yesterday. I think the best thing we can do now is wait until our copies arrive and see how the game plays for ourselves. I understand many of us have negative feelings towards Watermelon, but I'm willing to wait until I actually get a game before passing judgement.
I mean, the video we saw had plenty of issues, including the fact that the person recording it clearly didn't know what they were doing. So why don't we all wait out this last period before passing judgement? We've already waited for so long, surely a few days won't hurt.
So everyone, please, take a chill pill.
EDIT: I've also heard it said that the footage is from an early build and not the final game. So again, let's wait folks

I agree with stika's sentiment here. I've always been fairly neutral regarding Paprium, neither super hyped nor particularly negative. I am skeptical of course, who wouldn't be after such a long wait without any information? Most of all though I am intrigued and curious as to what the final result will be once I hold it in my hands. The video posted earlier looked very iffy; not just what was on display but more so the way it was presented. Blurry phone footage with no explanation as to what we're seeing or what you're doing is not a good way to do a "first impressions" video. I'm simply going to disregard that video and either wait for someone with a proper capture setup and some presentational skills to demonstrate the game, or just wait until I receive the game myself. Until that time I'm holding out my judgment and am going to just chill out about the whole thing.
