Can we please move on from Fonzie-WM promises/marketing habits/scam attempts and get onto the game as is? We are all grown ups and already know for sure it won't stand up to the stantards we expect from it and probably far from it, the guy said it so himself.

This is too loud. You just want to be angry at things at this point, and are somewhat spoiling the excitement of a new higher-than-regular profile homebrew to the scene. I know, I can just f**k off from here and go elsewhere, but still, I'd prefer not having to. Oh well.

It somewhat reminds me when Super Street Fighter 2 was out on the system and press reviews were like "where all those 40 megs went? It doesn't show" when we were getting one of the best fighting games on the system. They were right, sure, but sill. They had less time to fill those 40 meg, sure

I think this thread is getting out of hand. I understand we have several reasons to be dissatisfied with Watermelon (myself included), but I believe we're all going down a hate spiral here. I also think the hate for Luis here is unwarranted, the dude clearly believes in the project and he's an experienced professional.

I think Fonzie brought that upon himself. It's not like we're sending him death threats or anything, we're just pissing on his parade, and I believe for good reason.

That's not what the poster of the video said yesterday. Also, that's suspiciously the same excuse that was used to justify the state of the game during the release party, and that turned out to be a lie.

Don't get me wrong, Fonzie deserves all the criticism he's getting. This is *not* how you manage a game development project, regardless of how many excuses he may bring up. His own ego and stubbornness are constantly getting in the way of delivering a successful product.

But now that the game is "done" and shipping out, I think we should all quiet down for a moment and wait until we get to see some impressions from a reliable source. Shitting all over the game now already based on poor blurry phone footage from some unknown French channel who might be playing god knows what, that seems unwarranted to me. Once Joe or St1ka get reviews out with proper gameplay footage and the game turns out to be bad based on that... then by all means continue the shit avalanche. For now though, let's remain calm and just see what we get.

They certainly didn't skimp on the lavish packaging, but that's sort of what we've come to expect from WaterMelon now. The real question is whether the game quality is a match for the packaging, or if it's all just smoke and mirrors.

Of the criticisms I thought paprium would weather I didn't expect #throwgate to lead the charge. I was expecting lack of polish given the circumstances but some of you really took it as a smoking gun. The response seems exaggerated to say the least. That being said it happened for a reason. I'll repeat the first person to receive their copy and upload footage will be the best source of information on paprium we have. Today, we received our first minute of actual gameplay. In more than 3 years. From our perspective, this is paprium. Now I'm going to speculate for a bit here, whether or not that footage is an earlier build or not somebody was told to pull the footage because they were worried it wasn't representative of the final product. But instead of that discussion happening here, it happened behind closed doors and close friends. If you're not willing to have that discussion here, if you won't provide footage of the final product you cant blame others for their misconceptions. It's been 8 years and Fonzie is still holding tight to quelling any stream of information POST LAUNCH is baffling. I just don't understand how pulling that footage would have changed anything beyond the next 24 hours. This rift between those who are allowed to know things and those who aren't is crappy for the community as a whole. Having people come out of nowhere telling you they had seen the game the whole time but didn't say anything doesn't make me excited at all, it makes me feel like more and more folk took the walled garden as soon as it was offered to them and stopped caring about letting the community know what happened to their money. Nobody is in the mood for lectures or jokes or teasers. They just want to know. Not like I'm the first to point this out though, I'd much rather be analysing footage and getting excited about the game!

And just as I'm getting negative we get another peek at the final product! So the game comes in a separate box which itself is an in unvierse medicine packet of the street drug blu and the cartridge comes in a blister pack with a foil top that you pop like you would a pill!? That's so rad!

You know, the guy behind that channel, Yanosh, is a huge Fonzie and Paprium fanboy, and he asked Fonzie before sharing that video. That's why I have no hope that the version shown is not the final version. Why would Fonzie allow someone to share non-final footages?

And if it's not the final version there's a couple guys here that will still insist that it is (even if they never get the game). I prefer to not jump into conclusions before I play the game myself. That video could be anything. Looks like some sasquatch or UFO sighting.
