No, I find him shady for calling people greedy when he decided to set a retail price of $99 for SLG when approx. half of this price was decided for Papi Commando (which even included a dogtag).
All he could answer to this were insults. Pot, kettle, black... Once again.

You guys really seem to have difficulty not twisting others' words in order to match your very own vision of reality. That's sad!
But I promise I will not call you retards this time, as it seems it was too appealing to some who got their feelings hurt.

Props on you for a balanced post, did not expect it in this thread.
There's not one specific chapter where the lack of payment is discussed, but there's some comments at the last half of part 2 and even more at the last half of part 3.

I suggested here to cut Fonzie some slack, but no, it's better to just intoxicate.

My opinion is that the guy delivered. I don't know if that whole PayPal situation is true or not, but the thing is almost everyone has got his stuff. I certainly got mine just before christmas, and I'm really satisfied with the game and the stick. I choose to believe him in that everyone will get it eventually. Time will tell.

Then there's the "Watermelon for sale" situation, which I think it's really, really sad. You can dislike the guy if you want, but he and his team have created something really cool. It's his work, and it seems that he will have to let it go because he owes a lot of money. Like a million euros, which is substantially more money than a million dollars. He could just have called it a day, don't send anything to anyone and run away, but he chose the other way, deliver everything at his own expense.

Maybe I would, if not for the fact that this situation was the inevitable result of his business practices. It's amazing WaterMelon Games lasted as long as it did. Even something so simple as communicating with the consumers a few times in the last several years could have made up for all the other mistakes.

I'm saying it here, cause I said it in the Discord Channel, and I want to be clear on my position. I'm not helping Fonzie or WM with anything until they deliver everyone's stuff. If losing all of their IP, tech, etc. Is what results of WM shortsighted approach to indi game dev, that's a shame. But I for one will not support this at all. Fonzie seems to be blaming everyone and everything other than himself.

I hope you all get your product at some point.

I won't give WM money, or contribute to anything any indi dev makes if they involve Fonzie. Fonzie needs to deliver people's product, then he can start his victory lap.

Fonzie dug this hole, now he can get out of it himself. he didn't wanna talk to us when we were paying, and now all of a sudden we're good enough?
No, let him sell his IPs. then use that money to ship the remaining copies.

Fonzie, thank you very much for making Paprium happen.

No doubt you ran into serious troubles but you found a way to start shipping a finished and beautiful game to your customers.

This has become an unimaginable turn around. Indie games that disappear never come back... until now. Incredible!

    I've signed the petition:

    https://www.change.org/p/paypal-payp...e-game-paprium

And I've put in to crowd fund the Dolphin game.

    Merci!

I was curious about the serial code boot up bit so i opened my other copy of the game to check it out and they both have the same number but i assume this is to let the mgf know what region game copy you have when you use the mega wire. Either way i did not see anyone else report this anywhere so i figured i would since i do not care about sealed games.

Just throwing my 2 cents in. The guy sent me what I paid for. Promises were for the greatest beat-em-up for the system. Is it that? No. i'm just happy to have something in hand and the materials are quite nice with a game that has a lot of content. Worth the money spent for sure. Am I going to spend money to sign a petition so they can seek out others with like minds to sign(one that ironically accepts paypal as a payment option might I add)? No. If enough people care a free petition will accomplish the same, and I would gladly sign.

On a disjointed note, Fonzie seems to have the conception that the follow through will right all wrongs. I disagree. The follow through despite heavy odds puts trust that if I put I ever put money into an order with WM again I will get something in return which is great and far better than some other things we have seen released from other companies/individuals. The lack of communication and being left completely in the dark for years is just painful and not an experience many will venture through moving forward would be my best assessment. The line in the sand for me sits where I just fail to see how it can be difficult to dedicate 30 minutes a month to write up a progress update and send out to those that blindly sent you money based on faith. I said it in the original thread and still feel the same way nearly a decade later. I don't care how long the game takes to make. I just want something worthwhile in the end. I still expect some kind of communication. With just that much asking for help to get where we are now i would have been on board with. That bit of ommunication can pull you in and make you feel like you are part of the process, which is something the voting system when in concept phase made me feel. Going back Fonzie have said this is 1 way communication. I won't read or respond to anything sent. This is purely an update for your nowledge. I would be fine with that personally.

In the end, I hope the paypal account releases the funds. Funds to Fonzie means he can start to recover. I don't see why people would want somebody to fail, especially when there is obvious effort to try to reconcile promises in the end. If funds are released individuals who requested refunds will likely be taken care of. The tide raises all ships. If you don't like Fonzie's business practices don't put money into anything he puts out (ever again for many). It's that simple. You don't even need to be looking at this thread or any others with a related subject.
