Eyra, The Crow Maiden
The music is interesting, though the line scrolling looks a little choppy and I don't think that this style of game is for me. Great effort though!
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."
Yeah, I looked at Eyra on some videos and basically said nah, not for me. Agreed, kudos to these developers for getting new games out. Everyone has their flavors.
Really feels like Genny is a current system with all the great new releases.
I think the music is really good to be honest and was very surprised by that aspect of it. I've actually had quite a bit of fun with the game and did a pretty decent long play of it myself but didn't finish it as it was my first time playing the game and I've not memorized enemy placements etc. quite yet.
But yeah, for me the music has been the reason I want to play the game and I like the more laid back approach for the platforming in this one. Although there were a few jumps that I had a lot of trouble with in that they seemed to be very pixel accurate types.
Yeah, I really enjoyed Eyra (I like the Gen version more than the NES ver). The level layout is the same (for the levels that both games share...Genesis has more levels), but they feel a bit different. NES Eyra seems to move a bit quicker, and the draw distance is a bit shorter (resolution differences account for that). Also, the GEN ver has unlimited continues, and the NES ver has no continues. I was a bit disappointed with the ending of both.
I also have a 3 part playthrough on my youtube. The core playthrough where I missed one single rescue, and they I did a quick one with the final boss again having gone back to rescue all the warriors.
Oh man, I cannot wait for that Megaman The Sequels Wars title to come out. Been a while since I've hype for a game, a WHILE.

I dunno, man, there's some decent stuff still coming out for the Turbo, and if you like pre-16bit stuff, the Atari community is very active.
Besides a handful of Steam games, I've given up on everything post-PS2. I'd much, much rather get new games for older consoles than anything for new consoles.
And ZPF looks so bad-ass. I want more shooters like that, not some loli shit or yet another bullet hell.
I would say there's a good lot of superb stuff coming out for PS4 & Switch, shmup wise, that isn't bullet hell.
R-Type Final 2, Darius Cosmic Collection and Cosmic Revelation, Aleste Collection, the Toaplan Arcade Garage releases, Cotton Reboot, Cotton Rock n Roll, Raiden V, Sol Cresta...no bullet hell in these games. The Arcade Archives for both systems also introduced a bunch of games that have never seen release before at home.
I would say these current gen machines have been absolutely essential for classic 2D arcade and arcade style games.
And yes, ZPF is looking REAL good. I hope the team can match the impressive graphics and sound with equally solid gameplay.
