Well if you think it looks better than that's what counts. I have the opposite reaction to N64 games under emulation, I feel like the higher resolution of emulators just exposes all of the flaws. N64 games are generally a mishmash of shaded polys, textured polys and bitmaps. On an older TV it all kind of melds together but on a high res display all of a sudden it's obvious that spheres are really flat circles and the draw distance is very short for many objects. But plenty of people think I'm the crazy one and that anything looks better than the blurry output of composite cables to a CRT
By the way for anyone who wants a Zelda that doesn't require a guide, try A Link Between Worlds on the 3DS. So long as you have all the items you can go basically anywhere, the only place you could conceivably get stuck is the Dark Palace where it's sometimes hard to tell where you're going. ALBW is a masterclass in good game design and should really get the credit for paving the way for the open world exploration of BOTW.
