Yeah, I do realize that, actually. However, the only death metal I've heard of any sort is from my friends who listen to the corporate overproduced kind. Like Slipknot.

Anybody heard of that black metal group Goergaroth (probably misspelled), those guys are crazy. A guy i know got to go out and interview the lead singer along with a whole crew of people from vice tv.com and the interview was crazy. The lead singer said they should go for a walk so he could show them something and it turned into an all day journey up a huge mountain with freezing temps and snow and they were just wearing sneakers etc. The interview is nuts

Gorgoroth superb band, their early classic albums are fantastic old school black metal

oh and yeah I used to be very much into it all a couple of years back, not so much nowadays though I'll never give it up completely

Dude theres a part on the vice tv .com interview where they ask him a question, and he just sips his wine, then he is like " I don't think you are asking me the right questions." So the interviewer is like guide me then, and Gaahl just freezes in this slightly disturbing facial expression like he is thinking about killing the interviewer or deeply concentrating and he does it for literally minutes. The first time I watched it I actually got a chill up my spine thinking what the hell, this guy is wacko. I love Gaahl but he is really a wild guy, he really is trying to live like a warrior. His paintings are amazing, I was impressed. I like how he said he had to drop out of art school in order to become an artist.

*Sigh* I have no time for death metal or any subsection of it, I just find it so lame and tiresome, Cannibal corpse are the best example of how shite a band can be yet can still get merit because they "play F***ing insane man!". They are just garbage.

I prefer the refined kind, the likes that chino moreno or maynard can provide and if I want to listen to heavy stuff, the dillinger escape plan and tool will provide all i need.
