NHL 94 should have sold at least one million copies. Or at least they produced one million copies.

I thought you would never sell it because it's so awesome.
But it's on the OST, so it counts.
Yeah, but I'm talking about "Mortal Kombat: The Album" not a movie soundtrack.Originally Posted by Genesis Knight
No Scooter, no Orbital, no Rammstein, no KMFDM...100% The Immortals doing stuff that has a somewhat Lords of Acid sound to it (Oliver Adams!).
WHOOOOOOOOAAAAAA CHINESE NINJA WARRIOR WITH A HEART SOOOOOOO COOOOOOOLLLLLLLDDDD, SUB ZEEEEEERRRROOOOOOOOO!!!!!
The lyrics are kinda cheesy, but damn the music is good. Rayden has the best song on there.
I like MK 1, 2, Deadly Alliance, and Deception. Never got to play 4 all that much to form an opinion. I also couldn't stand MK3 and Armageddon.
Screw that, I'm bored with it.Originally Posted by Genesis Knight

Oh yeah.
Totally unfair, MK1 and 2 really provided some of the best Mega Drive times, featured some innovative features (digitialised graphics, fatalities involving scenery), and was a constant threat to the SF empire. I agree MK4 was a great reboot, showed SF how to do the transition to 3D.
Interestingly, both series don't really know where they stand anymore. Whilst there's a new SF planned, it wouldn't be the first time the hype wasn't met.
While Mortal Kombat had the digital graphics, fatalities and toasty, the tosh and choppy gameplay made it about as much of a threat to Street Fighter 2 as a disabled child is to Mike Tyson.
Most games that are hyped never live up to them. Street Fighter 4 and Golden Axe will both be well below the expectations our imaginations place upon them.
Tosh is subjective, but choppy? It runs smooth, especially sporting that graphics and engine.
Mortal Kombat for me, and many others, will always be the king of the 16 bit era. I'd be curious to see the sales figures for the two series.
I like most of the MK games, don't get me wrong. I just don't think 3 was terribly good, especially if you compare it with its upgrades.
Mortal Kombat 8 is coming, but Midway's pulling a Street Fighter III and using a lot of new characters. I just hope they are good characters.
P.S. sorta OT: Anyone own MKII for Game Boy? I think it's kind of funny, because it actually plays amazingly. It's a shame that Shao Kahn can be beaten just by do standing jump punches. (He keeps walking into them. How he rules over Outworld is beyond me, he probably couldn't make it through grade school without getting beaten up by everyone...)
