Well Ed Boon has said a lot of the original characters won't be appearing. I suppose it will depend on who survives, and the quality of the replacement fighters.

At least 8 will have awesome graphics, since it's using the Unreal engine.

II really is the pinnacle of the series. More moves, more fatalities, more special moves, made to give a better sense of depth to the series.
