The Wrights didn't build a flying machine 'because they could', and the space race wasn't started for that reason, either. "Because I could" was just Sir Edmund Hillary.

I want to do some sort of article or something comparing web browsing on various consoles. I would compare: Wii, Dreamcast, PS3 and Saturn. Porn ability would also be tested.
That sounds awesome, although I warn you now that the Saturn's browser is next to useless and the netlink modem is sloooooooooooooooooow.

Dreamcast + Internet + Porn = Win

I'm first experimenting with some leftover Memorex CD-Rs (before switching over to a pack of TDK's I bought......I really can't find those oh-so-godly, highly sophisticated brands of CD-Rs that other DC pirates rave about), and I can literally feel the grinding of my DC's motor vibrate through my (cheap) floor. "Dynamite Cop" took much longer than comfort to get past the boot screen and especially inbetween scenes which I recall had split-second to no loading in the original.
Keep in mind that my DC's laser and motor are still funky-fresh and I burned these test discs carefully at 4X (lowest speed my CD-RW drive could burn) and with RAW/DAO. Think it was the burn speed, the CD-R media, or what? And what's this about padding DC DC-R's so that the data gets pushed further into the CD?
Someone enlighten me.
(BTW, "Dynamite Cop" is cheesy and hilarious. Love the over-the-top soundtrack by Howard Drossin.)
It appears so; I bought it cheap from eBay, as used DCs are about the cheapest consoles you can get there, so I have no idea when it was produced; but I heard that some later models are incompatible to CD-Rs.Originally Posted by Genesis Knight

Strange enough, I know of two local places who are (from the last time I was there) selling new Dreamcasts, at prices ranging from $120 to $180. Surprised that there would still be new DCs around.......they're probably late models.
My dreamcast sounds like its taking a painfull dump everytime i play games. I feel bad it has to try so hard.
Yeah, Sega removed the CDR report just a leeeetle too late to do any good.
dcemulation is renovation..I'm going to burn some emulators on CD, But can I do it in Diskjuggle..Nero 8 Trial Expailed for me
nice to know. I have a DC and the drive is REALLY noisy. Once in awhile it fails to boot a game but for the most part it works fine. I'm playing mostly burnt games as I sold my DC and real games many years ago. The games I have now are almost all downloaded but during the actual run of the DC I bought most of my games.
