Taking my Cocker Spaniel puppy out on the common today, and bumped into the adult version of her:

I just checked the Lego ideas website, they have a Red Dwarf Lego set in review. I hope that one makes it to stores alongside the Spaceballs set that's also in review.
I used to like Legos; back when they didn't shove every franchise down my throat.
Yeah there's too much of it now, gone is the joy of walking past the toystore and seeing that "Lego in space/ship cargo docking/medieval knights" kinda stuff.
Now they seem to be releasing everything under the sun, just for shits n giggles I'll google deadpool lego right now.
...
...
Sigh, yep. that exists as well.
But Lego is also about making your own stuff. I admit that I'm also slightly concerned with the amount of franchises Lego are licensing right now, but if that's where the money is then that's where they'll go with their products. The one thing I want them to license is Alien, but that won't happen.
If you're into Lego (probably very few people on this forum), then check out the Flickr galleries of some of the well known Lego fans.

I blame my generation and the ones that followed combined with the internet for ruining everything from Lego's , to Star Wars toys, to Halloween.

I happen to have been talking to someone recently about the very subject of that SNL video. I keep seeing adults buying up all the Star Wars toys (as well as other franchises). Then they leave it all in the box, probably in the hope that it'll be worth big money some day. But I'm pretty sure none of it will ever be worth anything because too many people are keeping their toys mint in box these days. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't see how any of it will be worth anything in many years if every nerd out there has 3 of every character and ship, all in the boxes. But I bet Disnep love those collectors and are happy to satisfy that demand.

I haven't touched anything Lego in more years than I can remember but had much of the fun with them as younger person though.
To each his own but it's messed up when little kids can't get the harder to get figures because of the collectors. Plus Hasbro does that on purpose. I had a buddy working at Toys"R"Us and there would be like two of the hard to get figures in each box. A bunch of dorks would be circling like sharks at 8pm waiting. He would bend the cardbacks so the value wold go down and the kids had a chance of getting them
I've walked by that building so many times,

Huh... wow, I see the palm tree to left has gotten bigger.
Cool, I'm almost tempted to say that should be standard practice. A buddy of mine encountered that problem when he was looking for a very specific Hotwheels car for his son a few years ago. He talked to a Toys R Us employee and was told the same thing about collectors raiding the store for rare cars whenever there's a new delivery.
That's insane.
A generation of manchildren.
