Hah, I was about to edit my post to say that it reads exactly like talk.origin's interpretation(s) of the bible. I am sad to say I have run into enough nut jobs that I was on the fence that this was a real cult.

Thank god it's only a joke What got me was how broad in scope it was. It's like a Sega16 Raul Julia thread times a million. Sad that I have so much faith in humanity I actually started to believe it might be real.

^Ha ha, that's exactly what I thought when I was reading through that site this morning: not "These people are all wack-jobs," but "Who got all these people to participate in this joke?"

I have to believe that this Cranky fellow is the one who created this site. He seems to be the most intelligent and also the one who has the most ridiculous ideas.

The sad thing is that, if you read enough of these posts, it's clear that not EVERYONE is being facetious. There's a reason why Baptists in particular are being mocked here: this isn't exactly out of the realm of their belief system.

Edit: that's it, I'm joining up.

I do the same thing when I consider going to the Kroger five minutes down the highway or the neighborhood HEB grocery, which used demographic studies to determine what kind of clientele they wanted. It's silly really, one makes my wife and I uncomfortable and fails to stock anything we want to buy, and within five minutes drive is a totally different cleaner and better stocked grocery store.

I am almost completely absolutely kinda certain that Bazoo the Wizard in Shining Force CD is related to Baloo.

I miss HEB. But was it trashy? I was a teenager when I lived in Texas, so I wouldn't have known the difference.

No, definitely not all of them. We found out the hard way that they do these studies of the surrounding area to decide what they carry and what kind of customer they attracted to each store. I hike three miles most days in my neighborhood and still don't see the "Walmart" crowd I see at this HEB. The problem is we are a couple of miles from the city's ghetto. I actually feel bad saying that, but when I don't feel safe shopping somewhere it really isn't.

What part of Texas? I lived in Austin, and I'm not sure that town HAD much of a ghetto.

Again, I was a teenager at the time, tho. Probably a little ghetto myself.

We live in a smaller town about two hours east of Austin. I'm not going to post it in an open forum because it is just small enough I wonder if one of you wackos might show up at my door.

When I was studying history I learned that my entire county was one of the highest concentrations of freed slave descendants in the country. For the most part I consider that really cool, but when it is bad it is really bad.
