That being said, it is fun for a spin every now and then though. The tracks definitely have their own style.
Sure, for pure gameplay, the 32X version has the upper hand, but the Saturn version does have some unique features like extra racing machines and such. I think I like the music on the 32X version more too. Maybe the 32X version has a slight edge? Can't comment on the PS2 version, since I haven't played it.

"Your call is important to us! One of our agents will be with you shortly" >>> 40 + minutes later and still no reply searching for a local tracking number for an overseas parcel.

effing useless South African Post Office.

The correct way to deflect a strike is to "hit" the opponent's weapon at the fulcrum, not at the end. If you try to hit the end of a moving weapon you will miss more often than not, no matter how good you are. What this guy did basically opened up his entire body for a counter strike, nothing was stopping the opponent from hitting his hands, arms, head, legs, chest, stomach, whatever.

Unfortunately I have not seen any videos online of this done realistically. Kendo (a sport) is the closest thing, and usually isn't nearly as bad as these fancy pants wanna be expert youtube videos. You can at least see why it is silly to think you could control the end of the opponent's sword, much less take the time to switch sides and slide down their sword. You can switch sides, and you can close the distance, but none of it works like the howcast videos in a real fight.

I see what you mean. It's kind of like what Seth Roggen and some of those other MMA guys have been saying about a lot of traditional martial art styles and such. A lot of that stuff sounds really good, but is just too impractical in a real fight. If you say those kendo guys in that video are wanna be's then I would love to see the real deal in action. That stuff is fast.

They aren't wanna bees, they are obviousy athletic in their own sport. Kendo only has three targets, head, forearm and stomach, and whoever whacks one while calling it first wins even if he gets hit in the same 1/10th of a second. They won't learn escape strategies and will use minimal sword "checks" and deflects because their goal is to get a point not survive the fight.

In Kenjutsu you need to get close enough to fatally cut (not hit) or otherwise debilitate and get back out without getting killed yourself. It is much more mentally and physically challenging than simply landing a strike first regardless of whether you get hit too. To a greater extent than MMA is somewhat more "realistic" than Olympic Taekwondo, Kenjutsu is more based on a real fight or at least a 1:1 dual than Kendo.

Someone should've invented the internet sooner. I wanna see what people we're saying about the Saturn in 1993.

The Saturn is like the one console where theres absolutely no documentation on its early history.

If Redifer ever checked this thread, he could check, and post screenshots as theres no doubt he has those magazines.
