Did she even write anything else? I think she was an amateur to begin with, if I remember the history correctly. I think her husband was the "real" author in the family.

I hate all 19th Century European literature. Ugh. German literature is chock full of that poetic romantic hero that nobody understands and dies tragically or bombastic nationalistic nonsense (but hell, that stuff is at least slightly entertaining) but no country on the face of the earth has committed as many literary crimes as England.
For Jane Austin alone that country needs to pay restitution to every high school student in the western world.
19th cent. American literature is no better...ugh...Nathaniel Hawthorne, Longfellow, Emerson, Thoreau et al. UGH! Another forced literary death march in High School. I should sue my school district for forcing me to read this crap and almost nearly killing any ounce of joy/satisfaction I got out of reading. Thank god for everything else we DIDN'T read...
I mean why can't we read books from modern authors? These people are dead, their writing styles are so outmoded and obsolete that reading and understanding their contexts etc. is becoming impossible. It's time to make kids read modern, decent books.
Why not:
Michael Crichton
Stephen King
Raymond Chandler
Philip K. Dick
William Gibson
Yukio Mishima
Frank Herbert
Alfred Bester
Walter M. Miller
Wendell Berry (I hate this guy, I met him once and he was the biggest asshole in the world) and most of his stuff is really boring but SOME of it is damn good.
The list goes on and on

Shut up
I don't shut up
I grow up
And when I look at you,

This "US/NZ Strike Team"... It seems like something I might want to be a part of. What's the deal?
It is a team of highly devoted sophisticated people with the sole objective of ridding the world of all that is wrong! On the current agenda is the disposal of those who wear their hats offset to one side and their influencing of trends upon smaller weaker countries with no true identities of their own.
We are currently taking aboard new recruits.
