People are often shocked when they come to Utah and don't find liquor in a Grocery Store. You will find beer but that's it. We have dedicated liquor stores. It's one of the few times I'm happy for the more conservative nature of the state. I don't align with any party. Even as a nondrinker I will agree our new legal limit is too low. It used to be .08 same as California but they lowered it to .05. If I have cough syrup I'm legally drunk. That's just dumb...at least it's not as bad as when Missouri allowed it to be legal to murder anyone of a certain religion(LDS) until 1976. I will state again I'm in no way religious but stuff like that is fascinating.
that's right.
Seriously tho,
I can't recall his name now but there were a number of programs that aired here back in the day about a person originally from that region. And that of a multitude of homicides to do with the bodies being dumped at a "green river", or something to that effect.
Totally forgot to post that guy in the state's/city's innovation/invention thread. Most prolific serial killer in the US. A proud moment for Washington state.
I used to live in Texas, which only sold hard alcohol in liquor stores (which were closed on Sunday).
It ended up being quite a shock to move back to California and see that stuff in the grocery store ... seven days a week, no less!
Alcohol is poison. Hardens the blood vessels to the heart. Leading to a greater risk or stroke and heart attack or even worse what happened to one person I knew that I won't reveal. Alcohol after years of drinking made the heart vessels to brittle they snapped like a twig making him vomit blood go into convulsions while biting off his tongue. That was a fun site to discover. No that's not why I don't drink. I was sober before this. I honestly don't care if others want to poison themselves with drugs(tho yes there was a period in my youth I did do drugs, regretful time and no wasn't addicted was for fun and that lasted a while), smoking or drinking. They will regret it later but for me, I prefer to keep poisons like that out of my system. Alcohol is a depressant as well.
I am the opposite of a lightweight when it comes to alcohol. It takes more than a normal amount to get me drunk/tipsy. Consequently I rarely bother drinking. It's also kinda pointless to have one or two drinks if you won't feel it at all. I wouldn't drink anything alcoholic for the taste, for the most part.
Weed is better anyway.
You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.
