Amazon is taking over the the way we buy things and even Ebay is trying to keep up.

As a kid, I loved Lionel Playworld and Toys R Us put them out of business. Like Blockbuster, Toys R Us didn't adapt and when they tried it was too late. Kinda sucks as Malls and retail-specific big stores seem to be all but dead. I'd prefer the mall to Amazon TBH. Eating a churro playing the arcades hanging out with friends and buying stuff was fun.

Yeah the malls all six (two malls of eye sight/walking distance of one another) of the ones in the area around where I grew up was a hot bed of activity and interaction, sorta like a home away from home. I think there is only two left?

What do people buy so much on Amazon, exactly? I don't buy anything on there, not even games. The instant gratification of retail beats "oh yeah... I ordered this, didn't I?" any day of the week. Now there's like shipping AND state tax on most major websites too, so screw that. I'll just go pick up my goods, if I can. I buy from eBay a lot, but only for things that I'd never find locally.

I have prime and buy just about everything. free shipping and good discounts and *free TV shows and movies to watch on Prime video on my Roku.I don't have the luxury of getting around town that much. It's easy to preorder games and have them here on release day. Been using Amazon since 2003 and every year make around 45-50 orders of stuff as it's just easier for me. I, of course, use other sites but eBay is more of a risk so I don't use it nearly as often.

^SEARS is gone as well and as a kid, it was tradition to get the yearly SEARS Christmas catalog. Oh, I still have some Toys R Us weekly catalogs from the 90s. If I remember I will post them later today. One of them has a pre-order for Sonic Xtreme lol.
