But... Cyberpunk Star Was is not, young padawan.
On the bright side, fist two Star Wars still stands the test of time of capturing your imagination.
Somehow I am not surprised to hear it's a turd.
While a fella named Rian Johnson was responsible for this one, I find that 'reboots' involving J.J. Abrams seldom amount to more than noisy, overly flashy, visceral cringe fests with a hollow lie for a plot at best. I'm not bothering with any of the new Star Wars movies, after what I witnessed him doing to Star Trek.
Star Trek Beyond was arguably the least offensive of the new Trek movies, but even then I could tell it was designed to sell toys to kids. (Lookit those big ships! And the Yorktown station!)
Not at all interested in Discovery, the least reason being it doesn't have a hysterically awesome ham for the lead character (Shatner or Stewart).

Bear in mind we're talking horrific, expensive wastes of celluloid (hard disk space?) either way here. Too bad Robocop didn't have more screen time in Into Darkness.
Regarding the pre-Abrams films, never saw Nemesis. Kinda glad I didn't since I've heard it plays like a big-screen adaptation of a particularly naff TNG episode, in the vein of Generations, only worse.

The best Star Trek I've seen was session 2 of Generations. Every episode after the first was edge of your seat epic. Too bad the following seasons never recaptured the magic of 2.
I don't think Blade Runner (1982) is overrated at all. It's a very deep, well crafted film and is a story about the importance of life and the need to appreciate it. That's what I got from it anyway. One of my favourite lines of dialogue in film history is right at the end when Gaff refers to Deckard's replicant girlfriend by saying to him "It's too bad she won't live, but then again who does?" Now that is deep.
First off, understand this is Hollywood you are talking about. Second, this brotherhood of crap finds a few people (actors and directors) that are pushed as the IT person/people. Besides Wars and Trek, I don't know anything Abrams has done but based on those two franchises alone, I wouldn't trust him to direct a kindergarden graduation ceremony. I'm always shaking my head when I see the people who are supposedly the next best thing. Now I know why I spend most of my movie viewing time focused on 99.9% older pictures.
Damn. My cat escaped last night and he is not back yet. I am getting really worried now.![]()
That's a worry, I hope he comes back. I love cats.
It’s a terrible feeling, I sympathize.
My stupid cat ran out of the house just Thursday night. He was gone all day Friday, and my wife, daughter, and I were out until after dark looking for him. My daughter was freaking out, my wife was crying uncontrollably (a rarity for her)... and I was depressingky certain that something or someone had gotten him and we were never going to see him again.
Then, Saturday morning, I check the back door and there he was, relaxing on one of our deck chairs like it was no big deal
