I get you were only fulfilling his request, but how would he expect us to react after he asked for our posts to be deleted? Make some new allies? He could've asked for the posts to be moved to a new thread, but he decided to take this agitated, zero-tolerance approach, and thats why we reacted this way because we see its a significant pattern with the guy.

The only way I would even unlock the door is he somehow manned up and got a fucking job so yes sir he's done.

Bonus, I apologize for being disruptive, and it was out of respect for you that I [kind of] stopped (in reality I just brought it here, which I figured would also be seen by Barone once he’d been drawn out). Just because a member has a considerable amount of technical knowledge does not mean he is a positive presence in the forum. I have long since recognized Barone as one of the most negative members Sega-16 has to offer. Technically knowledgeable yes, but rude, pompous, dismissive, and outright bullying to anyone not on “his” level. I had concluded that, in fact, many years before his bullying drove off Sheath (someone I had considered a legitimate friend here, a while back). Barone’s response to that, by the way, was “good riddance.”

I had a big feeling Barone would see our circle jerk in here, but zero fucks given at the time.

I've had constructive debates with the guy, but he made it clear that he was not concerned with getting on anyone's bad side. Very aggressive and obtuse poster.

He had a disarmingly cute picture of Tails as his avatar, and he paired it with an outrageously abrasive and offensive personality. Pretty sure he was the one who accused many of us of being “flesh traitors” by liking Latin & Asian women.

I got my opinions on that, but I've learned its better to keep it to myself and the right places to discuss it.

I know a lot of people don't like discussing this, but it should be done. Bum sex is only okay with the proper protection. STDs are a huge problem in the gay community and will continue to be until this is addressed.

Just kidding. See, the difference there is that generally you’ve been a good guy to have around, so I appreciate your posts even if I don’t agree with everything you say. Kogen was pretty much 100% motivated by hate, seemed like. I was going through his posts yesterday looking for that one in particular, and almost every single one was confrontational in some way.


Side note: things were a little different back then, as this was before there were a number of socially-relevant-but-gasoline-fire threads that really divided the membership here. I’ve become a bit more appreciative of people with opinions more ... er, “extreme” than myself (for lack of a better word), because it just enforces the idea that conservative or liberal, 0% of us agree completely with everything anyone else here has to say. At the end of the day, we all gathered here for the same reason, from a variety of different cultures and lifestyles, and I think this should be kind of a neutral zone from the bullshit going on in the world right now.

Yes, I know that’s a pipe dream. But it’s fun to think about sometimes.

Yes, we're united by our love for games but are, of course, very different people, from different backgrounds and with different belief structures. The difference being that some of us respect and tolerate the opinions of others, no-matter how different they might be from our own, and others cannot and will not accept the fact that others hold different opinions from them. That's the fundamental difference between a positive and productive forum member, and a negative and destructive forum member.

Yeah I never touched his account so he split on his own. Barone left on his own accord as well and yes Thief is gone for good. Like I said before, unless he actually gets a real job and grows up, he's never coming back.

If you came here looking for fellow Barone fans, then I don't know if you came to the right place. Sure he contributed to the forum often, but I don't think it outweighed the things we didn't like about the guy. Really uptight, easily agitated, he had a group of people as a vendetta list, and he kept their posts in his signature.

Also theres a 5% chance that Gran Prix Challenge runs at 18 million polys per second, but he'll still believe thats the case.

Barone is one of the very few, if not the only one outside of Thief I never really liked. Sorry to stu (I have him and a handful of others on ignore), but the guy was an asshole, borderline bully to some people, even if ignoring his N64 Mythology topic.
