I have always felt that if SEGA as a company were to have a piece of singular music them to represent them as a whole. It's the Space Harrier theme. Something how that song sound makes me nostalgic for the entire era of SEGA and not just Space Harrier. I esp love the Transformed version in the AGES track.

    I prefer this version.

    - Where it's always 1995 (or so).

Played Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the first time over the weekend and I've never been more tempted to buy a Switch. The game is fantastic.

I'm glad that I decided to get an iPhone finally. I was very resistant to the idea without good reason. After putting up with enough headache-inducing shenanigans from various other Android-based phones over the years, I'm loving the change of pace. I got myself a X(s). Everything works so intuitively and seamlessly, and it's just the prefect size. It's no longer a wonder to me why this one company has half the market share. It's just that good.

Veblen goods. I have ten years of professional experience in dealing with iPhone stupidity, and it's not good. Popularity is not a guarantor of objective superiority. Not that I think Android phones are better, but differently awful.

I use my phone to respond to text messages, to rarely send and receive email, for GPS, a video/still camera, and web browsing (to check addresses, prices of items at various stores). Nothing wrong with a basic phone. Buying some $800+ piece of junk because you think you might be able to do something smart with it is about the height of hubris.

I can state pretty objectively that the iPhone is better than the competition. My last job gave us android phones and tablets to work with and after an extended period of using both companies’ products simultaneously, it was pretty easy to conclude that the iPhone was far and away better to use. Might not be “twice-the-price” better for everyone, but it absolutely is to me. I don’t think i’ll ever do anything smart with it... I mainly use it to make posts like this one.

Also using a "smart phone" is a beneficial way for them to keep track of you and your habits also predict them.

After all this data is the new black gold of the 21st century.

I just discovered this video and did not realize that this event took place 2 weeks ago!

Imagine being 16 years old, entering a tournament with no expectations, and winning by sweeping the 7-time Tetris champion! That was freaking awesome!

Good on you kid! Good on you!

I’m also beyond the misconception that I’m not being watched, listened-to, monitored, and/or manipulated regardless of what I do or what products or services I use to do it. I don’t have any black secrets to keep, so if they want to listen to the sounds of me googling on the toilet or watch me jerking off to retro porn, then let them.

Back in about 2002/2003ish I knew an ex military guy who told me that a lot of monitoring was going on. He said that phones, internet, radio, everything was being monitored big time. Yet its only been in the years since the Snowden whistleblowing that anyone cares about it. Basically, if you're not being monitored by Apple and the usual tech companies then you're being monitored by the military.

I agree with you. I have nothing to hide, and I doubt anyone cares enough about me to monitor specifics of my life anyway.
