Got one of these a week or so back:



Pretty sweet deal too - came with a monitor, and it was quite cheap. Problem? Hermes smashed the monitor in transit, and the PC powers on, but I get no picture (tested on other monitors, the fault lies with the PC!). So either I work out what's wrong internally or keep it for parts. Case is mint, mind.

Looks fucking gorgeous, you say they smashed the monitor but the pc wont power on? so the monitor is okay?
if the pc wont power on maybe try taking everything out and putting it all back together? see if any of the parts are cracked and check ebay for replacements.

Hope you get it working, that's one sweet looking retro computer.

The PC powers on, lights come on the machine, fans spin, the HDD can be be heard, but I get no picture output from it on screen. Tried it on three different monitors, and nothing. When I got it, the DVD drive had been smashed into the case in transit (I've since adjusted it, and that seems fine, at least from what I can tell), so it's been knocked about a fair bit. I'm going to strip it down and do a check on every component, see if I can get it working (the PSU seems to be good at least).

The monitor I got with it powers on, but it took a nasty smack and cracked inside. It looks fine on the surface, but the damage can only be seen when it's powered on. Luckily it's a LCD, so I was planning on replacing it with a CRT anyways.

The computer itself might be alright if you install a video card to bypass (what I assume to be) dead onboard video. Visual inspection of the system may take a while, but when it comes to old systems, even a cracked motherboard isn't an automatic game-over scenario. Bad capacitors might also be the issue aside from the beating the system took from the shipping cartel.

We lost one of our guinea pigs last night. He'd been sick for a while and there were far too many trips to the vet for (and let's be brutally honest here) a $30 rodent from PetSmart. But he was a far better pet than I would have ever expected and had a great little personality. He'll be missed.
