I think Vlogs started becoming a thing in the mid-00s with Youtube. Lonelygirl15 was viral until it was found out she was an actress hired by some company.
I've noticed that, too. I haven't really been watching the views for individual videos, but the overall view count is constantly going up and down, usually in increments of ten or twenty views at a time. I've pretty much made my peace with the fact that YouTube is purging out all the bot views or the ones when someone clicks out after just a few seconds.
I don't like how political YouTube is getting. It's the same with entities like Facebook, Twitter and even Netflix is starting to make political noises. Everybody seems to be falling over each other to be the first to virtue signal about how 'concerned' they are about things like abortions, the environment, Trump... It's boring at this point. I mean really, really fucking boring.
Yeah, that makes sense. They bled 70 billion dollars this year (source) so them trying to promote what sales and hide what doesn't makes sense, in a shitty half assed way.
Everything seems to be going PC mad nowadays. Can't go anywhere without it being shoved down your throat. I'm not into politics, I hate discussing political shit (I think ALL politicians are lying cunts personally who only say what you want to hear, then do a 360 when they are voted in) but everything is so politically charged now. You either have to be Left, Right, Extreme Left, or Alt Right. You even get shit for saying you choose no side. WTF. It's nuts.
Yep, we live in seriously messed up times, politically speaking. Regardless of your personal views on politics, extreme over the top emotional outrage seems to be the order of the day. Coupled with a never ending #metoo competition to see who can act the most offended and who can play the biggest victim card.
On an infinitely more pleasant note my nephew just said that he hopes I have a lovely day at work tomorrow and that he can't wait to spend time with me. I love him so much. He never knew his dad so I've always been there for him since he was a baby. (wipes a tear away before being escorted out of the room for getting emotional)![]()
I hate to be that guy, but I personally blame social media.
See, I have this theory: when I was younger, the internet was pretty much just for "niche" groups (hobbiests, mainly). And what were the first things we learned? 1. Trolls suck and 2. How to NOT be a troll.
But now, thanks to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, MySpace, etc, the internet is for everyone, and for the most part I think all these people are skipping over that crucial step where they learn how to get along with people on the internet. So now we've created a culture where people are used to acting like assholes on the internet, and since social media is the pretty much the ONLY way we are "social" nowadays, people are acting like internet trolls on both fronts. Oh, and politicians feed into it, since it's much easier to manipulate the masses when they are divided.
And also, UFOs are real.
Know what? I think you've hit the absolute nail on the head there, matey. I've never looked at it like that before. We literally live in the age of the internet troll. The modern world is full of people who have absolutely no idea of how to control themselves in day to day life, away from the anonymous sanctuary of a Reddit or Tumblr forum. These people have absolutely zero social skills and have no idea of how to conduct themselves in public, or of how to deal with people who have different points of view to them. This is why we have screaming neck beard hipsters who act like spoilt children when someone disagrees with them. This is why they need 'safe spaces' to hide from opposing points of view. This is why they are offended by absolutely everything. This is literally how SJW soy boy man children are created. This is how the western world has become a PC caricature. It all makes sense to me now.
Where’s 50 Cent when you need him? “Yo dawg, I heard you like politics, so I put politics in your politics so you can politic while you politic about politics!”
A healthy exchange of political views can be a good thing but the last time we did that arguments started, people got offended and Barone said he was leaving the forum...and then didn't.![]()
No.
No.
Sorry, I can’t allow you to misremember those events. Barone “left” because we had the temerity to discuss video games on a video game forum, but NOT in the way he wanted us to discuss video games, so he scooped up his toys and went home.
If only it were so altruistic as “political differences.”
That is how we lost IrishNinja, though.

It was fun to not sleep all night because the fire alarm was going off all night in the building. No fire just the alarm system was broke and decided to go off. Now I am in this weird state where I am just awake despite how tired I am.
