I have always really liked how Game Gear games sounded.
^If you've never seen Mystery Date (1991), I think you will like it. Similar idea and I though it was pretty well done... a simpler time for sure!:

No, I haven't seen that one. I'll check it out.
But the funny thing about that Corey Haim movie is that recently I came upon a whole bunch of movies on the old LaserDisc format. The former owner is an elderly gentleman.
Films such as Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, Ben Hur, Spartacus, The Godfather, etc, etc. Highly regarded and revered stuff. And among all that pile was this early 90's, direct-to-video Corey Haim effort. Totally out of place with the rest of the collection. I had a good laugh when I saw it there.![]()
Is this forum rendered super messed-up or is it just me?
Also to people with tech knowledge: does this forum look like its missing its CSS page?
Edit: It seems to went back to normal while I was writing that post

I've certainly enjoyed perusing it this past week. Always glad to see the classics get some love, I'm an Atari guy. If you're bored and want to go back and read what some former members thought of the 2600, I started a thread about it back in the stone ages. ;p

Also, if you haven't read it, I suggest checking out the book 'The Ultimate History of Video Games' by Jeff Kent. It's about 20 years old now, but his research into 70s video game history is excellent. So much information and interviews with all the top players.
Haim movies were all pretty much direct-to-video in the 90's... Some are charming, others, not so much.
Mystery Date is just one of those movies I remember watching as a kid during summer. It's worth a try if you liked Dream Machine!
License to Drive is great. I can watch Lost Boys absolutely anytime. And I always thought Dream a Little Dream was kind of cool even though the whole film is pretty nonsensical! I still wish I had that jacket Matt Adler wears! He made a great heel-turn after North Shore!

I'm watching Tron. Then I thought in some ways Phantasy Star Online felt like the real-life Tron. It really felt back then the novelty of it playing online with other people in this fantasy sci-fi transporting the player in the game. Hell, remember when online amazed us? Now it's full of passes and MTX and GaaS games, DLC and toxic company practices and toxic players. Tho Warframe seems in my experience a very helpful community.
Can't wait to watch Sonic the Hedgehog with Jim Carrey. It's like >'m 14 years old again
