One of those really tall white PC cases of the late 90s. CD-Rom. 3-inch floppy and 5-inch floppy drives. Tho I might want it to boot from those SD card mods than an actual HDD from the era. Not even sure I have the room but man I love the idea. XP could still do DOS, right? I seem to remember playing some DOS on my XP machine in 2004.

Edit: When I owned tower PCs I did replace parts like Power supply. Ram. GPU and such, I just never for money reasons was able to get the chance to fully build one. So I would not know how to start from scratch. I just get laptops now so I have not owned a PC tower in a decade. Regardless it's never going to happen anyway.
But don't puss out on us, you'll be using a 4:3 monitor regardless of how uncomfortable it is.

Also I think you overestimate how much it would be. Like a Pentium 4 would be $10, 2 stick of 256 MB DDR1 would be $10, all that stuff is not worth much.

And I was literally watching a LGR video a hour ago where he was upgrading his mid-90s PC with a 80 MHz Pentium.

Well gamevet is our resident "born late 60s/Gen X", it still amazes me how he was reading about the NES before it came out in North America.

Check that out, namely the box art. Nice game of spot what they got wrong.
That’s a weird mistake to make.

Well, Fallout would be one of the few games to make use of the GameCube’s broadband adapter. You know, for all the DLC

I'm playing through Doom 3 right now, and I have no idea why it's regarded as the black sheep of the Doom franchise. It's fucking awesome, and considering it came out back in 2004 it's seriously impressive!

Happy bissextile day everyone - even if you don't think such things should be celebrated. I have heard that in ancient times they acted like such a thing didn't exist. Silly primitives!

In 1712, Sweden had a February 30. This was during their transition from the Julian to Gregorian calendar.

Bissextile day? Now that sounds hot! The ancients had such fun, they weren't hung up on concepts like 'straight' or 'gay', they just indulged in what felt right at the time. In fact the only taboo the Romans had was regarding adultery. Apart from that anything went!

I've often thought that if time travel becomes real, Roman orgies would probably be the most popular destination. Like, the internet has lots of great resources if you want a history lesson, but it's more commonly used for porn.

    Frank is the best Stallone!

I always thought it would be cool to make an action movie starring all the lesser known brothers of bigger stars. Frank Stallone, Aaron Norris, Don Swayze...

The closest one I can think of off hand is the 80s action flick 'Savage Harbor' which starred Frank Stallone and Chris Mitchum (Robert's son). You've got to love how the poster emphasizes the Stallone and Mitchum in large letters while the first names are so tiny.

There was also a 1992 movie called "Death Ring" - it had Don Swayze (brother of Patrick), Chad McQueen (son of Steve) and Mike Norris (son of Chuck).

I have this gem on laserdisc.
