Getting hammered over beer. Never thought that could happen. It takes more than a 750 of cheap scotch to get me there.

It could be because I downed them real quick. And they weren't small bottles; they were 650 ml bottles. 4 of them, and two pizzas an hour before I went to bed.

Pizza (like any other fatty food) should slow down the absorption of alcohol in the small intestine as well as further catalytic breakdown in the body. It's not the ethanol, but the breakdown product of ethanol (acetaldehyde) which makes you drunk. Drinking beer does something like this, because is so full of calories, the body is also trying to take care of all those carbs at the same time.

Alcohol breakdown in the liver (where 99% of it occurs):

Ethanol ---> Acetaldehyde -----> Acetate (Acetic Acid)

Ethanol is broken down by Ethanol (Alcohol) Dehydrogenase
    Acetaldehyde by Acetaldehyde Dehydrogenase

Acetate is further broken down to CO2 and H20

Interesting fact: Many women (especially most Asian women) are prone to reaching drunkedness much faster and for longer periods of time because they will lack a large percentage of Acetaldehyde Dehydrogenase (and a marked increase in Ethanol Dehydrogenase). This leaves large quantities of the breakdown product, Acetaldehyde, streaming through the system without breakdown for too long. A cup of wine will get them hammered, two may get them gravely intoxicated.

Another interesting fact: Few species actually get drunk over alcohol. Each species is even individually intoxicated by specific substances (catnip, anyone?). Alcohol is the drug of mammals. For instance, reptilians cannot get drunk . Want to win a drunken bout? Bring your pet snake to the table. The alcohol will go right through it's system, uncatalyzed.

I watched the AVGN Sega CD video the other day and commented how it has a lot more good games than he leads us to believe. Naturally, people called me a sega fanboy and challenged me to name 50 games for it that are good. I named 57 that I feel are worth playing. That won't shut them up, but it might give them something to think about.

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.

I would venture to say 99% of all gamers don't even close to owning 50 games anyways.

I can handle my drink; i just can't handle it that quick down my throat. Don't think going to Germany's gonna "man me up". Not unless they have stomach pumps over there.
