Tinhead. Apparently it was a huge hit in U.K and Austrailia, even more popular than Sonic over there.

    Okay.............I lied.

Tinhead's all right, and has one of the best introductory level BGM's I've ever heard pumped out of the Mega Drive hardware. It's very inspiring and working-class esque. I listen to it every morning during my daily routine before school.

Yeah...............I lied about that last part too. Honest.

I'm going to have to bring Rastan Saga II to the table. I almost say Ex-Mutants, but if the difficulty level weren't so infernally high it would be better. Turrican is definitely another (the original Turrican is more of a platformer). Bram Stoker's Dracula gets my vote as well.

YES, YES, YES! Someone finally said it. I love it! Once you get past the cheap deaths and repetitive levels, its okay. The sequel didnt do it any justice, IMO because they messed with it too much.

I know this isnt for Genesis, but I LOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVED gex. there, i said it.

Fatal Rewind - I love, love, love, love, this game. I may be the only person in the universe who really loves this game. But I don't care. In my opinion, this game perfectly walks the line of being very difficult without ever being cheap. And the "fatal rewind feature" makes your (inevitably many, many) deaths more bearable.

Bubba n' Stix - I love Core Design, and I love platformers with parts that made you use your brain. This is probably the #1 perfect example of a great platformer with puzzle-solving elements.

Wardner - Very linear and simple, but I liked it.

Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure - Popular in its day, but seems to be dismissed nowadays. Really great game once you get used to the somewhat slippery controls.

You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.

I'll admit I also like Rolo To The Rescue a bit and Tiny Toons: Buster's Hidden Treasure.

I hate Bubsy. Pulseman is a platformer everybody should have for their Sega Mega Drive/Genesis video game system.

Bubsy???? Rolo to the Rescue??? And I could swear I saw Rastan Saga 2 being mentioned, theres a reason these titles are unsung!!! But then again great to see some people here are enjoying them..

I don't know if it is unsung but Quackshot was a title I found to be excellent.

Marvel Land is a nice little platformer with strange boss fights. Very old school looking though.

Heh, "old school looking" - they're Mega Drive games! Know what you mean though - sort of... 8-bit looking.

More good Japanese platformerness : Doraemon (and the long sub-title I always forget). I mean, it's incredibly easy, and the rock-paper-scissors bits are repetitive and annoying. But overall, it's a nice platformer. And it was packaged with stationary! STATIONARY!!

Although it was popular on iits release, Rocket Knight Adventures seems to be a bit of an 'unsung' game these days. I love the game, one of my favorite MD games. The sequel Sparkster is a good game too, but not as great as the original, lacks a lot of the wonderful graphical style.

Rocket Night Adventures is still pretty much known these days, at least from what i've seen.

    Oh, and you forgot Sonic.
