I went to a trade show the other day, and one of the video game sellers went through a book when I asked about a certain genesis game, and i guess he found its worth in said book. Where can I get a book such as this?

His book was more like this: http://www.vgcollector.com/
Priced by idiots based on eBay prices before shipping no doubt. I am adamantly against such books. I would actually be inclined to damage someone who uses a book like that on me.
I went into a record shop once and saw a game I wanted and said "I'll give you so and so for this" and we argued for like ten minutes about it and the guy says OK. Then he whips this book out and checks to see if I am trying to rip him off, post agreed price! I told him he was a mother****er and left while he was still looking for the price. I mean, the shop is dead empty, he has like two customers a day and he thinks I am trying to take him for a ride for giving him $4 for cart only Aladdin? I had a right mind to knock over some of his stock on the way out (I didn't of course). You can pull that rarity list shit on the internet but in real life it just doesn't fly.

All I can picture is the comic book guy from the Simpsons.
Price guides are generally a bad thing as the people that read them take them as unalterable fact, and use the highest valuation as a starting price. But in reality prices change all the time. A rare game can sell for £100 on ebay one day, then everyone else decides to sell theirs to cash in, and prices tumble because the market is flooded.
Honestly, the only book I'd really trust is the Digital Press guide, if not for prices but for overall rarity. They even themselves say that prices can change and nothing is ever set in stone.
Did it look like this?
