Jak and Daxter rules. THe Sequels are not as good. I have never been big on Final Fantasy games but I loved X. It has a great story line.

I guess I'll have to make suggestions, since everyone else pretty much dropped the ball.

Culdcept (Highly recommended, if you don't have a 360)

    God of War

Growlancer: Generations (This title is starting to become rare, but it's a worthy purchase)

    Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution

    Guitar Hero (Great soundtrack)

    Ring of Red

Sega Genesis collection (This collection includes Phantasy Star IV)

Sega Classics collection (This collection includes an enhanced version of Virtua Racing)

    Devil May Cry

    Ace Combat 04

    Gran Turismo 3&4

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance ( Includes never before released Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake)

If you (or anyone else) manages to find Project Altered Beast, Sega Rally 2006 and the NiGHTS remake on PS2, can you shed some light on them because I know almost nothing about these games.

VISUALSHOCK! SPEEDSHOCK! SOUNDSHOCK! NOW IS TIME TO THE 68000 HEART ON FIRE! The Sega Mega Drive - the most advanced video game system in the universe only by sega: the masters of arcade entertainment, and remember, genesis does! ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US!

The title of the game is just 'Altered Beast', and its pretty rubbish. I would say its worth checking out just to see what Sega did with the game, but since it fetches around £10 or so its not worth it.
The mythologic setting of the original is totally gone, which was a large amount of the games appeal I think. Its set in modern day, and its one ugly game, all browns and greys. I played it for about an hour, and the gameplay was nothing special at all, very basic stuff. The best bit of the game is the transformation animations, when your eyes pop out and stuff.

The NiGHTS remake is in line with the other 'Classics Collection' games - OutRun, Space Harrier, Fantasy Zone, Columns and Golden Axe, I think - that received PS2 ports - it's the original game, ported to the PS2 with optional enhanced graphics and remixed soundtrack.

The first thing you pick up should be the Sega Genesis Collection

I actually own a few games...

The Devil May Cry 5th Anneversry Collection
    Shinobi
    Front Mission 4
    Ridge Racer V
    Devil Kings
...some other title I forgot, but I know it was cheap (I'm typing this at the library)

I did buy the Sega Genesis collection for the PSP yesterday, and I did own Spyhunter on the Xbox, but I didn't really like it too much. I would love Burnout 3, eh.. the fact you could never skip that instruction fmv when doing a single race really pissed me off. I despise NFS Mostwanted.
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

I own Altered Beast and I love it. Sure, it's cheap and ugly looking - but put some time in to it.

At first playing I came to the same conclusion as you, but I kept on playing as I had nothing else to do.

More I played, the more I feel in love with it.

That wasn't released for the PS2. And let's be honest, it's rubbish.
