Just to chime in my two cents, I've played both versions (though I don't own either any more) and the Jaguar version is superior to the Saturn version. In addition to the fact that the "feel" is better on the Jag (and the control tighter), the way some of the enemy units behave is different to the detriment of the game. Now, the difference isn't big enough to go buy a Jaguar per se, but it is there. I've also played the PSOne version. The Jag version reigns supreme.

You know, I'm sure the Jaguar version is superior. But not superior enough for me to go get one. Granted, if Rayman weren't on the Sega Saturn I would probably get a Jaguar. I KNOW I would get a Jaguar if I didn't have a Sega Saturn so I could have Tempest 2k, Rayman and Zool 2. I still can't understand why Zool 2 only came out for the darn Jaguar and not the Saturn...Zool 1 was on the Genesis, I freakin' love that game.

Zool 2 was also on the Amiga and CD32. So, there's that.

Your reasoning is sound. T2K for the Jaguar is its one killer app. AvP was good for its day, but I tried playing it not too long ago and the framerate makes it unplayable compared to modern games (although the art style still holds up well).

There are a handfull of fun games on the system (notably Iron Soldier, Missile Command 3D, Ultra Vortek), but none of them are good enough to warrant buying a Jag. And Rayman, its other crown jewel, is commonly available on multiple platforms as you say.

Just to confirm that the Jag is better left alojne, I got back into the itrecently for a brief period, bought most of the decent games, and realized it just wasn't worth owning. It's a shame because it had the potential to be a fun little machine.

Sorry, but the Commodore 32 controller is the work of Satan and I cannot go near it. Not to mention, I'd have to get everything from Canada. Everything from Canada takes about 200 days to get from there to here in California. So no thanks.

The CD32 can use any Amiga/ST/Genesis controller.

Even if the Jag version was better, would you really want to endure that controller to play it?

Yeah, thats the official "soundtrack". The official Earthworm Jim soundtrack sounds nothing like the Genesis songs.
