I stopped recycling last summer, since any time I got enough cans and bottles to actually make a trip to the recycling center worthwhile, my unemployed squatter in-laws stopped by to visit and drove off with them.

After years of conditioning, it was incredibly strange at first to just throw the cans away with the rest of the garbage. But now the guilt has subsided and raping the earth has become second-nature.

We have recycling wheelie-bins that get picked up by a bin-van, and have been threatened with monetary fines if we don't use them. I don't know how they plan to enforce this, probably with the help of sneaky binman spies, or perhaps (less likely) ninjas. The garbageman can!
