Well Hoff's singing is pretty disliked here.
But that is because his music is concentrated "communism busting music". If people in a country that never was communist hear his music, they will hate it. Those in countries that were once under the commie grip will love it. Which is why Germany love him and the USA doesn't.
Ever wonder why The Hoff has never been seen in China? He's been banned from the country. If he starts singing that regime will crumble.

Plus...Raul Julia's appeal is pretty universal, whereas Hasslehoff's isn't.
